Maxar Space Systems is a leading provider of comprehensive space technologies. We deliver innovative solutions to government and commercial customers helping them unlock the promise of space to solve problems on Earth and beyond. We address a broad spectrum of needs for our customers, including mission systems engineering, product design, spacecraft manufacturing, assembly, integration and testing. Maxar Space Systems is a trusted partner in commercial and government missions, combining more than 60 years of deep mission understanding with reliable performance and longevity.
Maxar Space Systems is currently seeking a passionate engineering student to join our 2024 summer intern program in Palo Alto, CA. Systems Engineering encompasses work and processes that develop, design, and test our space vehicle systems. This includes the development of key processes to handle requirements management, verification & validation planning, as well as specific documentation associated interface requirements and definition. Systems engineers are involved with most phases of the product lifecycle that involve multiple parts of the spacecraft, including architecture development, interfaces, fault management, reliability analysis, requirements definition, verification and validation, and on-orbit operations. Additionally, systems engineers work closely with sub-systems engineers to ensure all system requirements are interpreted, decomposed and flowed down properly in order to achieve accurate sub-system design. Lastly, systems engineers may provide back-end support by reviewing spacecraft test data during critical test phases as well as authoring critical operations procedures.
This is a requisition for summer of 2024 intern positions with involvement in the development of critical system engineering processes that impact the design, verification, and in-orbit operation of space vehicle systems.
