      Job Summary

      Dominion Energy Technical Security organization has an intern opportunity available for a candidate interested in learning about enterprise level security systems. This opportunity will allow you to put your education into practice while working with professionals within the Technical Security and IT organizations.

      Some of the duties may include:

      • Provide hardware/software support for the following enterprise security systems
        • Physical access control solutions
        • Automated gates
        • Video surveillance systems
        • Fire alarm systems
        • Intrusion detection systems (IDS)
        • Other related systems
      • Assisting in:
        • Project Management
        • Developing technical security solutions based on security assessments
        • Design of security applications and systems to accomplish desired security profile at company facilities
        • Development and maintenance of technical security standards for company facilities
        • Monitoring performance of systems and ensuring preventive maintenance schedules are followed
        • Instructing user groups in the operation and testing of security systems and equipment
        • Maintaining the integrity of automated security systems, including desktop applications and servers
      • Providing application support for contractors during system troubleshooting

      The role may supports company locations including Substations, Power Plants, and Offices

      Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience

      Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

      • Possess intermediate to advanced computer skills
      • Possess basic analytical skills
      • Demonstrates good interpersonal skills and provides excellent (internal) customer service
      • Ability to work in a team environment
      • Ability to evaluate problems and make sound decisions
      • Possess strong critical thinking skills, excellent written and oral communication skills and strong attention to detail

      Education Requirements

      • Must be a student attending a 4-Year or 2-Year school majoring in an electronics-based field of study, computer science, information technology, electrical engieering (ABET accredited), management infromation systems, engineering technology, programming or related
      • Must currently have a minimum GPA of 2.5
      • Must have a graduation date of Fall 2026 or later if enrolled in a bachelor's degree program
      • Must be currently enrolled in school at the start of the internship
