      Maxar Space is looking for a V&V Software Test Intern to join our team. In this role you will work with Systems Engineers and Software developers to verify flight software embedded on commercial and civil satellites performing missions involving communication, earth observation and lunar gateway activities.

      Your Project:

      As a member of a team of Software Test Engineers, you will be working in a learning mode with requirements, test plans, test procedures and executing tests in an environment utilizing software and hybrid test beds.

      Placement of individual interns within each of these systems engineering roles will be based on intern's background, intern's areas of interest, and Maxar need.

      What you'll do day-to-day (with your colleagues):

      • Develop domain knowledge on Flight Software associated with satellite command, telemetry, power management, thermal, fault detection, GNC, mechanism and payload subsystems.
      • Develop knowledge on test planning derived from software requirements.
      • Compile test bed requirements to support test plans.
      • Support development and validation of test beds.
      • Create test procedures – automated and manual if required.
      • Perform tests.
      • Analyze test data and create test reports.
      • Add test cases to an automated pipeline

      Minimum requirements for this position:

      • Must be a U.S. citizen
      • Student working towards a Bachelor’s degree in aerospace/controls engineering or physics.
      • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program with completion of two years or more
      • Mathematical skills, particularly numerical analysis methods and linear algebra
      • Debugging and trouble-shooting skills
      • Familiarity with software compilers and other software development tools

      These skills would be amazing:

      • Understanding of orbit dynamics and attitude control
      • Understanding in coordinate transformations in Euler Angles and Quaternions
      • Python and/or Java skills.
      • Knowledge of Scaled Agile Framework

      Our salary ranges are market-driven and set to allow for flexibility. Individual pay will be competitive based on a candidate’s unique set of knowledge, skills, and geographic diversity, with earnings potential commensurate with experience. The range for this position is:

      $15.96 - $26.60 hourly.
