      We are seeking an enthusiastic Internal and Corporate Communications Manager who will build strong relationships across Lambeth Council to help achieve our organisational aims. Lambeth Council is ambitious for its residents, and it is borough with a clear set of priorities, as set out in ‘Lambeth 2030 : Our Future, Our Lambeth’. This role has a significant part to play here, by unifying our corporate messaging, engaging the organisation and being part on an exciting culture change programme to achieve our Lambeth 2030 goals.

      We have well established internal communications channels, including newsletters, staff forums, events, webpages and more. The Internal and Corporate Communications Manager has oversight of these channels and looks at opportunities to assess impacts and improve the reach and effectiveness of internal communications. The role will work with our One Lambeth Comms and Engagement Lead and sits within the council’s wider Campaigns and Communications team.

      Key Tasks Include

      • Manage internal communications channels
      • Support the Chief Executive and senior leadership team in their staff engagement
      • Support our One Lambeth change programme
      • Help embed our new borough plan and values with council staff
      • Coordinate the Lambeth Staff Awards and annual staff conference.
      • Producing compelling content
      • Measuring impact and outcomes

      Key Experience Includes

      • Senior internal communications experience
      • Working closely with leaders and building relationships
      • Implementing robust feedback and engagement
      • Strong writing skills
      • Familiarity with implementing change programmes
      • Communication planning
      • Experience of running internal engagement events
      • Experience of working with diverse communities
      • Ability to work flexibly and creatively
      • Commissioning film, photography and design
      • Experience of local government or equivalent sector

      The Team

      Lambeth Council's Campaigns and Communications team produce high quality communications on behalf of Lambeth Council across all its service areas. The team of 18 covers a wide range of campaigns and communications disciplines including design, print, press, social media, marketing and internal communications. The work is fast paced and varied and undertaken by a fun and enthusiastic team.

      We operate on hybrid working model, providing employees greater flexibility and opportunity to work from home with a minimum two days a week in the office. Office working would be at our modern offices in the heart of the Brixton Town Centre, less than 5 minutes' walk from the Underground and Overground train stations.
