- Be a team player and share best practice across the functional team and UWS UK team
- Lead and deliver employee wellbeing and fun events & activities across UWS UK sites to create a sense of belonging and community [Templecombe, Cheadle, Crawley, Bristol]. Including:
- Create, deliver and maintain fresh, engaging & interesting wall art and electronic & physical collateral including up to date information on TV screens across UWS UK sites. This includes the deployment of UK and Group wide collateral. [Templecombe, Cheadle, Crawley, Bristol]
- Source, write and edit internal content and publish across a range of channels, ensuring that all
- content (intranet news, emails, team briefs, videos, etc.) is on message and linked back to the overall
- UWS UK and Thales UK messaging and vision & strategy.
- Create, gain sign off to the UWS UK Fortnightly Newsletter sending these out via Easycom
- Create, gain sign off to UWS UK wide and site wide Emails and send out via Easycom
- Provide logistical and delivery support for UWS UK Employee Briefings and communication events –
- Physical and virtual [invites, connection details, collateral, room booking, AV etc.]
- Update and maintain the UWS UK Intranet pages including:
- Maintain the monthly UWS UK and Site distribution lists [Templecombe, Cheadle, Crawley, Bristol]
- MS Teams Comms

Our Opportunity
We have a fantastic opportunity for an Internal Communications Coordinator, to join the Under Water Systems [UWS] business within Thales UK.
This role focuses on providing internal communications delivery expertise to the business as well as communications and engagement events and activities. Designed to generate great engagement and involvement, you’ll help create an environment where employees feel connected and like they belong so that they can give their best each day.
You’ll report directly to the Head of the Business Support team with support from the UK Internal Communications Business Partner. This role will work closely with UWS UK leadership team, other stakeholders and external suppliers.

- Family Day to be arranged for summer 2023.
- Poseidon Refurbishment activities
- Overall UWS UK Intranet Pages
- Cheadle Heath (corp.thales) site pages.
- Templecombe site pages
- Manage Cheadle Site MS Teams Channel and sub channels
- Manage Templecombe Site MS Teams Channel and sub channels
This role will require SC Clearance. It would be advantageous if currently held; if not currently held it is expected that the post holder will undergo SC Clearance, please visit the UKSV website for further guidance.
About you:
You’re an excellent communicator both written and oral, demonstrating strong business acumen, with the ability to collaborate at all levels of the organisation.
A creative storyteller who motivates people to achieve, is outcome focused and measured. Encourages and facilitates a culture of dialogue amongst all audiences. Is proactive and gets out there to understand how our people think and feel.
To be successful in this role, it’s essential you have a strong knowledge of what good engagement looks like, internal communication channels, event management and business as usual communications activities.
You’ll need to be able to demonstrate your experience and understanding of business requirements to support the translation into internal communications and engagement activities.
