      Location: Salem, Massachusetts (30 minutes north of Boston)

      Lead the next generation of physicians in a thriving community teaching hospital.
      Mass General Brigham Salem Hospital, a member of the premier Mass General Brigham healthcare system, is seeking a visionary and dynamic physician leader to serve as Program Director of our Internal Medicine Residency Program. This is a unique opportunity to direct a well-established and fully accredited program in a vibrant, collegial environment with strong academic ties.

      Salem Hospital combines the personalized care of a community hospital with the resources and prestige of an academic medical center. We are proudly affiliated with Tufts University School of Medicine, and our hospital serves as a primary teaching site for its medical students.

      About the Program:

      • Fully ACGME-accredited with 27 residents total and 11 entering each year
      • Supportive faculty, enthusiastic learners, and a collaborative care team
      • Strong focus on quality, safety, process improvement, and professional development

      Position Highlights:

      • 50% administrative and 50% clinical role
      • Opportunity to shape curriculum, mentoring, recruitment, and quality improvement initiatives
      • Leadership role within a high-functioning medical education department
      • Faculty appointment at Tufts University School of Medicine available, commensurate with experience

      Ideal Candidate Qualifications:

      • Board Certified in Internal Medicine
      • At least 3–5 years of experience as an active faculty member in an ACGME-accredited Internal Medicine residency program
      • Minimum of 3 years of administrative or educational leadership experience
      • Demonstrated excellence in clinical care, teaching, and mentoring
      • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
      • Committed to resident well-being, high-quality care, and team-based learning environments
