Job Description

- Set up district and campus systems related to teacher pipelines, professional learning, curriculum alignment, instructional resources and integrity to the specialized model
- Develop and provide presentations to district, campus, and community stakeholders related to implementation of the specialty programs on a campus
- Research policies and best practices related to the specific specialty program
- Develop and implement a continuous improvement methodology to determine the effectiveness of the specialty programs
- Work collaboratively with all district stakeholders to launch future specialty schools
- Work collaboratively with the Executive Director who supervises the specific specialty school
- Work collaboratively with future campus and district leaders interested in expanding the speciality program or school
- Coordinate site visits to schools with specialty programs
- Identify, coordinate and manage professional development services to campuses with specialty programs
- Coordinate resources to deliver quality programs
- Meet deadlines in a timely manner
- Coordinate internal and external communications including marketing efforts for specialty programs
- Oversight and management of course offerings specific to the specialty program
- Communicate policies and procedures with all parties involved
- Acquire and distribute materials
- Ability to present to groups of all sizes; ability to adapt to extenuating circumstances when conducting training sessions in diverse environments
- Ability to self manage in pursuit of an end goal within a fast-paced environment
- Serve as a liaison between various departments
- Provide cross functioning leadership and technical assistance to managers and to other departments in the division/district through specialized services
- Ensure compliance with TEA, state, federal and school board policies and laws
- Develop action plans, policies, and procedures to facilitate the attainment of specialty program success
- Keep abreast of technical, legislative, and professional development opportunities affecting assigned responsibilities
- Performs all other tasks and duties as assigned
- Master’s degree required from an accredited university
- 5-8 years experience and expertise with the IB specialty program required
- Ability to handle difficult situations firmly, courteously, tactfully and impartially
- Efficient and effective decision-making skills
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variable in situations where only limited standardization exists
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form
- Ability to present to groups of all sizes and adapt to extenuating circumstances when conducting training sessions in diverse environments
- Ability to self-manage in pursuit of an end goal within a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrated problem solving/investigative skill as required to research inquiries
- Demonstrated knowledge of school and district organization, operations, policies, goals and objectives
- Strong organizational, communication, written and interpersonal skills
- Computer skills, specifically, familiarity and mastery of Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
