      Job Description

      About the Team: The Global Payments team within Treasury (Finance) is a center of excellence providing strategic and tactical payments insight to a wide set of McDonald’s stakeholders across global, segment, and market Finance, Customer Experience, and Technology teams. The team supports the execution of the payment’s strategy by advising on digital payments initiatives; managing vendor relationships; optimizing performance and cost; and ensuring network compliance.

      ROLE: We are seeking an International Payments Analyst to advise markets in Asia, Europe, Latin America, Middle East, and Africa to ensure performance and cost optimization, resolve issues, and capitalize on key opportunities related to our overall global payment’s strategy. Due to the dynamic and constantly evolving nature of the Payments industry, the International Payments Analyst must stay on top of changes in a broad range of areas, including, but not limited to, pricing, fees, penalties, government legislation, and legal and compliance requirements. The payment experience spans multiple steps of the customer journey and has a significant impact on our restaurant owner / operators. In this role, you will be a trusted advisor to various country leaders on local payment methods, vendor strategies and contracts, costs with a focus on total return on investment, payment operations best practices, and network compliance.

      Responsibilities include:

      • Support the local market team to deploy and optimize performance of global payments solutions, as well as answer questions on costs, reconciliation, and functionality.
      • Become an expert on costs in effort to educate markets and proactively track change
      • Provide operational guidance in a scalable manner by preparing and updating supporting documentation
      • Ensure performance metrics are continuously monitored, understood, and improved
      • Advise on contracts, pricing arrangements, account setup and performance of payment processors, card networks, and payment providers
      • Model financial impacts of card network fee changes, payment options, or initiatives
      • Be a respected advisor cross-functionally across the McDonald’s organization to ensure the coordination necessary to drive successful outcomes for these markets
      • Support the digital payment strategy including payment options, seeking out local context, and benchmarks.

      • Communicate why the work is important and influence stakeholders to create better outcomes
      • Can work multiple projects concurrently and track progress to desired outcomes across countries.
      • Continually re-evaluates priorities to ensure timely delivery of work.
      • Analyze data in excel and understand the financial implications of payments choices.

      Qualifications

      • BA/BS degree in Business, Accounting and/or Finance Preferred.
      • Data Management; Expertise with dashboards/reporting
      • Confidently tells and presents compelling stories using date to internal & external Stakeholders.
      • Proficient in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

      Desirable Skills & Experience:

      • Experience working with Payment Vendors
      • Experience of Business Intelligence / Data Visualization tools is highly desirable.
        • Tableau / Power BI / Looker / QuickSight / Qlik Sense.

      Personal Qualities:

      • Demonstrable analytical and critical thinking skills.
      • Proven organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills, both written and oral.
