      Position Summary

      The International Affairs Analyst (Administrative Analyst/Specialist - Exempt I) provides support to the Assistant Vice President of International Programs and Global Engagement (IPGE) in all areas of Global Initiatives. The incumbent will provide budgetary support, as well as support for international partnerships and the University Committee on Internationalization. This position will be responsible for organizing, tracking of international agreements/partnerships/contracts, and communicating status to stake holders on a regular basis. This position will be responsible for coordinating with stakeholders to organize and support faculty, staff immigration application needs under the guidance of the AVP. This position will manage full range of clerical, secretarial, and general as well as the passport office support functions at varying levels of complexity.

      The Analyst’s role provides daily support to the AVP of IPGE to strengthen IPGE as a student-centered, international student friendly organization, and support the AVP of IPGE in creating an inclusive, high-functioning, collaborative team within IPGE in support of the mission and vision of the organization and the University.

      The Analyst should support the IPGE’s broader twin goals of making the University a welcoming, caring and inclusive place for international students, faculty and staff and work towards making the University a leader in global engagement and learning for our students, faculty, staff and our community.

      FLSA: Exempt (not eligible for overtime)

      Anticipated Hiring Range: $4,170 per month - $4,378 per month

      CSU Classification Salary Range: $4,170 per month - $7,545 per month

      Minimum Qualifications

      Entry to this classification requires general knowledge and skills in the applicable administrative and/ or program field with a foundational knowledge of public administration principles, practices, and methods. This foundation would normally be obtained through a bachelor's degree and/ or equivalent training and administrative work experience involving study, analysis, and/ or evaluation leading to the development or improvement of administrative policies, procedures, practice, or programs.

      Required Qualifications

      Experience:

      1. Experience compiling and assembling financial and statistical reports.
      2. Experience working with people with diverse backgrounds.
      3. Experience working in an office setting, coordinating projects and communicating with various stakeholders.

      Knowledge / Skills /Abilities:

      1. Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate in a clear and polite manner, including in­-person, email and telephone.
      2. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to coordinate with individuals at all levels of the organization and act as a representative to outside entities, as needed.
      3. Excellent organizational skills.
      4. Proficiency using office technology including office software packages (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite).
      5. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a diverse environment.
      6. Ability to analyze and address problems using reasoning and the interpretation and application to develop and recommend alternatives and best course actions.
      7. Ability to provide budgetary support such as monitor, analyze and reconcile budgets and/ or develop budget projections.
      8. Ability to generate financial reports and/or prepare financial transactions (e.g. requisitions/purchase orders, invoices, work orders, budget/ expenditure transfers, and reimbursements).
      9. Ability to exercise a high level of confidentiality and sound judgment.
      10. The full range of clerical, secretarial, and general office support functions at varying levels of complexity
      11. Demonstrated history of student-centeredness/customer-centeredness, inclusive approach to working in a team.

      Preferred Qualifications

      1. Basic knowledge of applicable university infrastructure, policies, and procedures.
      2. Working knowledge of CSU and University policies and procedures related to students and faculty.
      3. Working knowledge of English grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
      4. Experience or understanding of steps/planning/processes required to organize events, activities, and conferences.
      5. Experience dealing with or familiarity with immigration documents/processes.
      6. Second language skills and multicultural experiences.
