Become one of our 16 International Trainees at Vattenfall. Each of the trainee positions is unique, linked to a department within a specific business area and a working location. This means that each position has its own specific responsibilities, challenges and matching profile.

Next to your personal development in this unique position you will be enjoying one year of all we have to offer. Your trainee year will be filled with meetups with your international trainee team with likeminded individuals. You will be meeting up virtually to work on assignments and live during four seminar weeks where you will be visiting our power plants and growing your superpowers with a variety of trainings.

Your role as a Trainee – People and Culture

Your traineeship will be split between Business Area (BA) Markets and Staff Function (SF) People & Talent Development. Thereby you have the possibility to get insights into and learn about People & Culture work both in a business area and in a staff function.

BA Markets is the market hub within the Vattenfall group and provides market access to the wholesale power, gas and fuel markets beside trading operations. We optimize all Vattenfall’s production assets as well as a sizeable external wind asset portfolio. We support Vattenfall’s commercially viable transition into a fossil free future.

SF People & Talent Development is a group-wide function active across the employee journey consisting of the units Attract & Recruit, Compensation & Benefits, Learn & Develop and Plan & Engage. We support all business areas within Vattenfall to shape an excellent employee experience characterized by high engagement and continuous development.

Your daily activities:

For BA Markets

• Be in close contact and support to our HR Business Partner colleagues to gain insights into and learn about various aspects of the employee lifecycle within the Business Area
• Collaborate with team members on innovative concepts for attracting and retaining employees, contributing to the enhancement of our workforce

For SF People & Talent Development

• Engage in projects aimed at implementing our People & Culture strategy, actively participating in shaping the company's culture and employee experience
• Work closely with colleagues on assignments that support employee engagement and talent development, fostering a positive and growth-oriented workplace environment

You are our ideal trainee if you are a recent graduate with an academic degree and have maximum one year of work experience, or you graduate before February 2024. You are fluent in English. Skills in other world languages can be a merit. You are willing to relocate for possible assignments throughout the organization. And of course, you identify yourself with our principles: active, open, positive and safe.

Location: You will be working in the department People & Culture in Business Area Markets and People & Talent Development and the position is located in Hamburg or Berlin (Germany).

Selection period starts after the application period is closed with online tests followed by interviews in November. An assessment is also part of the recruitment process and will take place in the end of November. The recruitment process will be finalized in December. The last step will be a pre-employment screening. Starting date of the Vattenfall International Trainee Programme will be March 4th, 2024.
