      Are you looking to kick-start your career as a trainee in Europe`s largest renewables company? Our International Trainee program gives you the opportunity to be surrounded by and learn from some of the smartest people in the industry who care about their work positively impacting the green energy transition. You will spend 16-months learning and developing yourself alongside other graduates and explore 3 different work-rotations, one of it being abroad. As a trainee, you will participate in various professional development courses and gatherings to acquire new skills and grow personally. There is also the chance to apply for our internal CEO-led Future Board, an advisory board made up of young employees to support our corporate management.

      Trainee - Corporate Strategy, Business Area: Corporate Staff

      Corporate Strategy is responsible for supporting Corporate Management in developing Statkraft's strategy and reviewing the portfolio of activities. We shape the ambitions and targets for the Group, and provide advice on capital allocation and prioritization across the portfolio of activities. The team is driving strategic projects across the Group. Our work involves close collaboration with various stakeholders across our business areas and at corporate level. Together with top management and business leaders, the department is a driving force for shaping Statkraft’s future development.

      As a trainee in Corporate Strategy Development Team, you’ll:

      • Contribute to shaping Statkraft’s corporate strategy in close interaction with business leaders across the company
      • Participate in strategy projects, including conducting research and analysis, leading workstreams, and synthesizing conclusions into recommendations
      • Gather strategic market intelligence and evaluate strategic opportunities and challenges the company is facing
      • Contribute to evaluating Statkraft’s overall portfolio and provide advice on early phase M&A opportunities and capital prioritization
      • Conduct 3 rotations within areas such as energy analysis (fundamental market understanding), business development (e.g., Hydrogen, Wind, and Solar development), and M&A before returning to the Corporate Strategy team

      Trainee - Strategy Development, Business Area: Markets

      The business area (BA) Markets, delivers industry-leading green market solutions to customers and Statkraft assets via energy management, asset exposure management, proprietary trading, and origination.

      Markets Strategy is a staff unit represented in Oslo and Düsseldorf. We are responsible for driving the formulation, development and review of the Markets BA strategy. The team identifies, scopes, prioritizes and manages strategic projects initiated or approved by EVP Markets or the Markets management team. We also drive the performance agenda for strategy implementation and business development. Our work involves close collaboration, coordination, and in many cases management of various stakeholders within the Market BA and at corporate level.

      As a trainee in the Markets Strategy Development Team, you will:

      • Contribute to the development of Markets’ improvement agenda to support 2030 growth ambitions
      • Support strategic analysis and projects, including project scoping, conducting analysis, and synthesizing conclusions into recommendations
      • Support Markets’ annual strategic review process
      • Support the Markets Strategy Development team in its operational tasks
      • Conduct 3 rotations within areas such as energy analysis (fundamental market understanding), business development (e.g., Hydrogen, Wind, and Solar development), and M&A before returning to the Markets Strategy team

      The mandate of our unit gives us a unique opportunity to shape the future of the Markets BA. This role offers significant exposure to senior management, both within M and across Statkraft. Working at the interface between business units also offers significant insights into the Markets BA from the top down.

      Trainee - Strategy, Business Area Europe

      The business area (BA) Europe is responsible for providing clean energy to Statkraft’s European markets. Statkraft is currently Europe’s largest producer of renewable energy. In addition, we have high growth ambitions in renewable development in more than 10 countries and across several technologies, including wind, solar, and batteries.

      Europe Strategy is responsible for supporting the BA in achieving its ambitious growth targets through developing the BA’s strategy, driving strategic projects, and supporting the country organisations with strategy and strategic market analysis. Together with senior management and business leaders, the department is a driving force in shaping Statkraft’s future development in Europe.

      As a Trainee in the Europe Strategy Team, you will:

      • Execute strategic analyses and projects with tasks including project scoping, designing analysis, and synthesizing conclusions into recommendations, with broad interaction across the organisation
      • Participate in developing BA Europe’s strategy and strategic plans in close interaction with the senior management team and business leaders
      • Support the countries and business units within Europe in strategy and business development activities and work on a broad range of topics, technologies, and business challenges
      • Provide input into shaping of Europe’s portfolio and robustness of portfolio and prioritization of our activities
      • Work in a highly competent team and engage with experts across the company, including participating in the broader strategy network in Statkraft
      • Conduct 3 rotations within areas such as energy analysis (fundamental market understanding), business development (e.g., Hydrogen, Wind, and Solar development), and M&A before returning to the Europe Strategy team

      Trainee - Ownership, Investment Portfolio and Strategy, Business Area: New Energy Solutions

      If you have experience using your passion to achieve a net-zero energy society and have skills in business and technology analysis, then you could help solve the climate crisis with us. This is your chance to identify and select investment cases and business opportunities in the Ownership, Investment Portfolio, and Strategy Team in business area (BA) New Energy Solutions, in our effort to renew the way the world is powered and make a positive impact on our planet.

      As Trainee in the Ownership, Investment Portfolio and Strategy team, you will:

      • Help the team develop and prepare individual business cases (investments and M&A) in the different business units
      • Help maintain portfolio and master data overview across the BA New Energy Solutions
      • Contribute to developing the portfolio forecasts and pathway to set strategic targets
      • Participate as an analytical capacity in strategy projects and investment decision projects (New Capacity, New Technology, New domains, New Partnerships)

      Qualifications

      We need new graduates who are motivated to be part of the green transition and welcome individuals from different backgrounds that want to help change the world with us. Statkraft is looking for trainees with the essential skills to future-proof our business and renewable energy solutions. To be successful as a Strategy Trainee in Statkraft, we believe you have:

      • Master’s degree within relevant areas (science, economics, business, engineering, technology, or similar)
      • No more than one year of work experience post-education (excluding internships / part-time jobs)
      • An interest in relocating during your trainee programme for a period of 6 months.
      • Proficiency in English (additional fluency in European languages is advantageous)
      • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
      • A strong and proven ability to collaborate and communicate with others and work as a team player
      • A curious and open-mind towards different tasks and work environments
      • An interest in the renewable energy industry, techology, and innovation

      Experiences in these areas are also useful:

      • Know-how in strategy development or implementation, project management, change management, or process improvement
      • Relevant experience from the energy industry or strategy development through internships or part-time jobs
      • Knowledge in tools such as Excel, Power BI, Python, and PowerPoint
