Become one of our 34 International Trainees at Vattenfall. Each of the trainee positions is unique, linked to a department within a specific business area and a working location. This means that each position has its own specific responsibilities, challenges and matching profile.

Next to your personal development in this unique position you will be enjoying one year of all we have to offer. Your trainee year will be filled with meetups with your international trainee team with likeminded individuals. You will be meeting up virtually to work on assignments and live during four seminar weeks where you will be visiting our power plants and growing your superpowers with a variety of trainings.

Your role as a Trainee – Strategy Advisor

Business Area Heat develops, operates, maintains and optimizes the full value chain of heating and cooling networks and efficient heat and power production to serve customers and society with reliable heat, cooling and electricity in the Netherlands, Sweden and in United Kingdom. We aim to grow by delighting our customers and being a preferred partner to cities and other stakeholders. As a true leader in the energy transition we are committed to provide efficient and climate-friendly solutions. While doing this we will focus on healthy cash flows, an excellent safety record and high reliability of production and supply.

The role of the Strategy unit within Business Area (BA) Heat is to give answers on a bundle of strategic questions for our operating heat units across all our three core countries. We need to understand today’s and future market surroundings and conditions, to which direction the business should head to, identify risks and opportunities, how to maintain and develop competitive advantages, how to efficiently organize and last but not least how to prioritize and initiate the projects & activities which creates most value.

Your daily activities:

• Support yearly strategy process, business improvement
• Discover new business opportunity projects
• Support on ad hoc projects
• Create easy understandable presentations to Senior Management
• Take over PMO lead role for smaller projects

You are eager to deal with a lot of different things on a broader base. You love to pull your sleeves up and dig into market functionalities and you're a master in simplifying complex matters for a bigger audience.

Next to this:

• you are a strong team player with high motivation, flexibility and humor being performance-oriented, self-driving and strategic.

• You will bring strong communication skills (presentation and reports), cooperation skills and analytical problem-solving skills to the team.

You are our ideal trainee if you are a recent graduate with an academic degree and have maximum one year of work experience, or you graduate before September 2024. You are fluent in English. Skills in other world languages can be a merit. You are willing to relocate for possible assignments throughout the organization. And of course, you identify yourself with our principles: active, open, positive and safe.

You will be working in the Strategy department and the position is located in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
