Monthly full-time allowance between €500 - €700 gross, depending on educational level and if you would need to relocate to The Netherlands. If you will perform a part-time internship you will receive the allowance pro-rata.
Housing compensation, in case of relocating to the vicinity of the office, €300,- net if location is in the vicinity of Amsterdam, €255,- net for all other Philips locations. You need to provide a rental contract of the land lord, and your normal home-work travel distance need to be more than 50 km or travel time (one way trip) need to be more than 1.5 hours.
Travel compensation, if you are not eligible for a free public transport card; you will receive max. €192,- net.
Paid holidays per internship term.

Monitoring physical activity can improve patient care, reduce hospital stays, and boost patient outcomes. This project aims to develop a single model capable of estimating multiple physical activity metrics in a patient population.
Your role:
• During this internship, you are part of the Clinical Applications & Devices (CAD) Research Team within the Hospital Patient Monitoring business.• You will do literature research: sensor signal (accelerometer), physical activity monitoring, machine learning, deep neural networks, semi-supervised learning (for incomplete annotations), and multi-task learning
• You will be processing retrospective data collected in research settings using commercial sensors and Philips prototypes
• You will help with the development and validation of a method to estimate multiple activity metrics, like detection of walking and speed estimation, from accelerometer data using a single model for in-hospital monitoring applications
• You will define a strategy to assess and optimize the performance of the method based on the target population (patients)
You're the right fit if:
1. You are studying towards your Master in Sciences (MSc.) in Biomedical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or a related discipline
2. You have good knowledge of signal processing, data analysis, and AI techniques. Affinity toward an understanding of biomechanics is a plus
3. Expertise and proven background in Python programming and experience with the main machine learning and deep learning Python packages (Scikit-learn, Tensorflow, Pytorch)
4. You are fluent in oral and written EnglishIn return, we offer you
