      Job Description

Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis. No sponsorship is available for this position.

Ramboll is accepting applications for the Summer 2024 internship program at our office located in Blue Bell, Pennsylvania. Each participant will be assigned a mentor who will guide them through project assignments. The program will provide internship participants with the opportunity to gain experience working in multiple practice areas within Ramboll, including Site Remediation, Ecological Services, Advanced Manufacturing, Dams and Waterways Design, and Environmental Compliance. Our goal is to afford our interns experience with a variety of projects during the summer program to broaden their understanding and experience within their field of interest.

In addition to hands-on environmental consulting and engineering consulting experience, Blue Bell interns will also participate in a series of web-based interactive workshops along with the other Summer 2024 Ramboll interns across the U.S.

Qualified candidates will be contacted for interviews in a virtual setting. Interns will be paid on an hourly basis and will be overtime eligible. Housing and relocation expenses are the responsibility of the intern. Interns will have access to the office workspace in Blue Bell but will also have the ability to work from home. The expectation will be a minimum of 3 days a week in the office.

As you work on challenging projects, you will be given increasing responsibility and rely on experienced managers and colleagues to offer support and a helping hand as you learn and develop in your role.

      Tasks and Responsibilities

The successful candidates will work with multiple project managers in our office to help develop client deliverables (reports, permit applications and technical analyses). The types of projects and expected day-to-day tasks may include one or more of the following:

      • Participate on project teams to evaluate remediation and environmental control technologies and develop plans for site remediation.
      • Planning ecological assessments and monitoring studies
      • Statistically analyzing data
      • Producing figures and tables for reports
      • Preparing permit applications, supporting documents, reports and communicating results to clients
      • Assist with project research and preliminary design calculations and analysis.
      • Support preparation of engineering design drawings, calculations and technical specifications following design, construction, and government standards.
      • Reviewing and summarizing regulatory requirements.
      • Visitation of jobsites to gain field experience, broaden background, and develop practical skills.
      • May periodically assist Ramboll staff in the office with administrative functions; learn what it means to be an environmental engineer/scientist and trusted advisor to our clients.
