Academic Year Internship Program:

This job posting advertises opportunities for students to intern with Universal Destinations & Experiences for Fall 2024 through Spring 2025.

JOB SUMMARY: Intern will learn about the Event Operations department and executing private events in a theme park setting. Intern will provide leadership, work direction & assistance to the Event Lead, Event Guides, and Event Operations Management Team through fieldwork and projects through Marquee Events and company events.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assists with the execution of events such as Marquee Events (Concert & Parade), Youth & Corporate Events.
• Provides work direction to hourly teams.
• Completes leadership/administrative projects to assist the overall department goals.
• Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training, and Team Member involvement activities.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION:

• In pursuit of an Associate, Bachelor or Graduate degree at an Accredited Institution with current class standing of Junior or above.
• Recent graduates will not be eligible for this program.
• Minimum cumulative 2.8 GPA is preferred.
• An official transcript may be required upon request.
• Preferred majors include: Event Management, Hospitality, Tourism.

Preferable skills for success in role include but not limited to:

• Ability to confidently and accurately converse with divisional partners, guests, and hourly staff required.
• Ability to handle sensitive information with professional maturity required.
• Strong computer skills required.
• Ability to synthesize information and compile large amounts of data required.
• Must be efficient in Microsoft Office Programs including, but not limited to: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Strong interpersonal skills, problem-solving abilities and organization.
• Exceptional attention to detail.
• Superior written & verbal communication skills.
• Work in a fast-paced environment and adhere to deadlines.
• Ability to work autonomously and/or in teams.
• Consistent attendance.

• This internship will be an in-person experience, based in our Orlando offices.
• Interns must be currently pursuing a degree at an accredited university, and must have a graduation date later than April 2025.
• Universal Orlando does not provide housing. Interns are responsible for their own housing and transportation.
