Assist and ensure a smooth operation and flawless meetings/events in the Baird Conference Center, identify, and implement process improvement in all areas of operation
Provide exceptional service to internal and external clients in person and over the phone
Gain insight into how Baird operates internally and externally, learn about the businesses, network with associates and clients alike
Complete projects including Audio Visual data tracking, managing expenses, email campaigns, ordering and other team projects as assigned
Cross-train with other roles and teams within the department and support these areas with project work and/or staffing, as appropriate
Pursuing a degree in Hospitality Management, Event Management, Marketing, Communication, Business, or related degree. Targeting December 2024 or later graduation dates
Hospitality or Service Industry experience – High Touch Customer Service; have a passion for making others feel welcomed, comfortable, and tended to
Technical aptitude, specifically audiovisual experience – laptop connectivity and troubleshooting. Crestron knowledge a plus
Can do attitude and takes initiative – no task is too big or too small; team player
Strong attention to detail
Graphic design expertise/interest is a plus
Marketing experience a plus – design promotion or documented resources for broad distribution
Gain exposure to and experience in hospitality and events, learning the different roles and taking on variety of tasks
Experience working in a team environment, participating in daily meetings, and evolving the role
Highly visible role with opportunity to significantly expand professional network
Systems administrator for Baird Conference Center meetings software

The Hospitality team is truly the face of Baird. Those who walk in our doors can be assured they will have a professional and unforgettable experience, and that starts with Hospitality. The Hospitality team works together to cover various client-facing reception locations throughout our corporate headquarters, as well as organize and execute nearly 8,000 meetings and events annually in the Baird Conference Center. They are responsible for greeting guests and callers and directing them in a helpful, friendly, and professional manner. At Baird, clients come first, and the Hospitality team sets the bar for how they should be treated.
Internship Location, Availability, and Hours:
Located in our downtown Milwaukee, WI office or downtown Louisville, KY office, the intern must be able to work full time during the summer, 37.5-40 hours per week. We are seeking a student who can start in May 2024.As a Hospitality Intern, you will:
