We are looking for Specialists and Team Members to join us in crafting a wide variety of vehicles from the Mercedes-Maybach GLS SUV to our all-electric electric vehicle, the EQS SUV and EQE SUV. Our Tuscaloosa County site is home to the production of Mercedes’ luxury SUV models, including electric vehicles. Just down the road in Bibb County, MBUSI has launched the production of high-performance lithium-ion batteries. Our two campuses are among the most advanced automotive manufacturing facilities in the world, with over 6 million square feet combined.

  Essential Functions:

  • MBUSI is currently developing and implementing a comprehensive vision system strategy called Project FOCUS. This initiative is intended to ensure quality and delivery to our customers through the use of standardized camera and controls technologies including AI analysis systems. This position will assist and coordinate Phase 2 of our vision system strategy which will cover multiple camera systems across different areas of Assembly 1 and Assembly 2.
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and managing the full project lifecycle (from the design phase through the commissioning phase) with support from the Equipment Planning Engineer responsible for project FOCUS. The successful candidate should be someone who can work within a production environment with many crossfunctional teams and departments to achieve the desired outcome.

  Other Regular Daily Tasks:

  • Support of equipment changes within the department relating to new vehicle launches
  • Support of equipment planning team in Assembly 1 and Assembly 2 as needed

  QUALIFICATIONS: Education, Experience and Necessary Skills all must be met in order to qualify for position.

  Education :

  Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or in a related area, and/or the equivalent combination of education and experience

  Necessary Skills, Certifications, etc .:

  • Project Management
  • Engineering
  • Strong comunciation skills
  • Experience with CAD (Solidworks, Siemens NX)
  • Comfortable in manufacturing environment
  • Vision System Commissioning
  • Keyence Vision Software

  Preferred Start Date:

  • July 2025

  • Paid internship - hourly rate $18

  Requirements:

  • Currently enrolled in University or in a gap year between Bachelor's and Master’s degree
  • Studies outside of the U.S.A (we are not accepting applications from students who are currently studying in the U.S.A)
  • A minimum of 3 semesters of studies in relevant field of study
  • Available for a minimum of 6 months
