We are looking for Specialists and Team Members to join us in crafting a wide variety of vehicles from the Mercedes-Maybach GLS SUV to our all-electric electric vehicle, the EQS SUV and EQE SUV. Our Tuscaloosa County site is home to the production of Mercedes’ luxury SUV models, including electric vehicles. Just down the road in Bibb County, MBUSI has launched the production of high-performance lithium-ion batteries. Our two campuses are among the most advanced automotive manufacturing facilities in the world, with over 6 million square feet combined.

Essential Functions:

• Working together with Supplier Quality Engineering and Supplier to determine what is the most useful method of problem prioritization/prevention and defining a system of tracking progress.
• Helping with department CI projects and efficiencies in the early stages of new model awarding.
• Revising and reworking a rating system to represent supplier metrics

Our team is in charge of quality from the sheet metal and casting suppliers, so knowledge of welding, riveting, gluing, and other joining methods would be helpful.

Other regular daily tasks:

• Visiting suppliers to help audit processes
• Going to production floor to gather data on current supplier issues

Education, Experience and Necessary Skills all must be met in order to qualify for position.

Education :

Student in: Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Business Informatics, Data Science or in a related area, and/or the equivalent combination of education and experience.

Skills:

• Knowledge of GD&T and ability to read measurement reports
• Project management experience
• Attention to detail
• Analytical ability and problem solving (knowledge of 8D/5Why)
• Aluminum casting/metal forming (beneficial)
• Mechanical joining technology knowledge (beneficial)

Requirements:

• Currently enrolled in University or in a gap year between Bachelor's and Master’s degree
• Studies outside of the U.S.A (we are not accepting applications from students who are currently studying in the U.S.A)
• A minimum of 3 semesters of studies in relevant field of study
• Available for a minimum of 6 months
