- Receive physically and process systematically all incoming stone deliveries within established timeframe of receipt. Ensure stones are moved physically and systematically in accordance with company and departmental SOP (Standard Operational Procedure).
- Perform Cycle counts, High Value counts, review transaction history to ensure accuracy. Perform secondary counts as needed when discrepancies occur.
- Transfer and receive inventory from external and internal customers (manufacturing, testing labs, JDIW, design, product development, etc.).
- Support the identification of increased controls to reduce risk, develop plans and identify obstacles for implementation.
- Prepare shipment of stones to Merchandise Testing Laboratory (MTL) in accordance with company policy. Ensure test results & all associated documentation is properly kept in accordance with record retention guidelines.
- Support processing for all qualifying diamonds into Grading Lab complete evaluation for standard proportions according to TGL procedures utilizing Sarine Technology. Maintain the accuracy and integrity of Sarine output while controlling the upload of data into JDE.
- Partner with Management to establish, document and implement calibration procedures.
- Gain in-depth knowledge of processes within Industrial Stone Operations.
- Perform mock audit of targeted processes and score compliance.
- Identify opportunities for increased controls.
- Work safely at all times by consistently following safe work procedures for your role, as well as all safety procedures required at your workplace. Demonstrate leadership by leading safety process checks & improvement projects in coordination with continuous improvement initiatives.
- Currently enrolled in Business or Supply Chain field curriculum program
- Proficient in English
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, problem solving and attention to detail
- MS Office skills particularly using Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and Word
- MBA student
The Stone Operations Intern will work to support stone operations by gaining deep understanding of inventory procedures for both transitional and holding inventory, while also identifying opportunities for improvement. They will gain broader understanding of diamond technology, its usage with the goal to document SOP's and calibration requirements.
Dates: This position will begin on June 3rd and end on August 9th. Candidates are asked to be available to work for the entire 10-week program.
Location: This position is in-person at our Corporate Headquarters in New York, NY.
Salary: Compensation for this position is $25 per hour working a total of 40 hours per week.
