Job Description
- Req#: 2421
- Conducting research and identifying promising materials, reading, and preparing summaries for the fellow’s new book project
- Tracking and organizing research materials, carrying out fact-checking and other tasks related to project
- Assisting in logistical support for meetings, including but not limited to preparing distribution materials
- Attending general Council meetings and other programs on foreign policy issues, as time permits
- Undergraduate or graduate student with background in political science, political philosophy, history, economics, or related field
- All applicants should have completed the equivalent of four semesters of college coursework (not including AP classes in high school) by the time they begin an internship)
- Excellent research, writing, and editing skills, as well as experience working with qualitative analysis
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, experience working with databases such as JSTOR, Google Scholar, LexisNexis, and/or Bloomberg
- Ability to work independently, high attention to detail and organization, and high academic standing
Overview
All who are selected to participate in CFR’s Blavatnik Internship Program and Robina Franklin Williams Internship Program receive training in the field of foreign policy and international affairs as well as skills training in writing, research, program planning and much more.
The intern will work with a research associate in the studies department, assisting a senior fellow with research, editing, and administrative tasks. The intern will gain firsthand experience with the tools scholars use to analyze economic policy and historical questions.
CFR internships are paid, require a 14 - 18 hour commitment, and are filled on a rolling basis.
CFR’s summer internship program gives interns the opportunity to choose whether to work in our office in a hybrid capacity (half in the office, and half remote), or on an offsite fully remote basis.
