      The Program

      At Novo Nordisk, interns will have the opportunity to work closely with experienced industry professionals and gain valuable, hands-on, full-time work experience. For ten weeks, interns will be immersed in the environment of a global pharmaceutical company and contribute to the line of business by providing sustainable and meaningful project work. Our internship program also includes instructor led trainings, a leadership engagement series, and a guided mentorship program to offer professional and personal development.

      In addition to individual department responsibilities, interns will also participate in the program’s capstone event, the Innovation in Action Case Competition. Assigned to cross-functional teams, interns will work closely to develop an innovative and comprehensive solution to a business problem currently facing Novo Nordisk. At the conclusion of the program, teams will present their findings to a board of top Novo Nordisk officials representing the various lines of business.

      Program Start: June 3rd, 2024.

      Program End: August 9th, 2024.

      Scope of Position

      Novo Nordisk is on an ambitious journey to improve the lives of people living with MASH (formerly NASH, Metabolic Dysfunction-Associated Steatohepatitis). MASH is a highly prevalent disease affecting 3-5% of the United States population. Of those affected it is estimated that as few as 0.15% have received a diagnosis. In order for Novo Nordisk to support those living with MASH with treatment, it is vital that they are identified and provided with support as soon as possible.

      As a member of the Liver Health Market Access Team, the intern will work independently and under the guidance of senior staff members to design and execute research studies, analyze data, and develop recommendations based on their findings. The intern will be expected to stay up to date on the latest research and trends in the field of non-invasive testing for MASH and work collaboratively with other team members to achieve project goals.

      Expected Tasks:

      • Conduct literature reviews and synthesize relevant research on non-invasive testing for MASH.

      • Design and execute research studies to further understand the use of non-invasive testing for MASH.

      • Develop recommendations based on research findings and effectively communicate findings to the team and stakeholders.

      • Participate in team meetings and contribute to the development of project strategies and goals.

      • Assist with other tasks and ad-hoc projects as necessary to support the team's objectives.

      Physical Requirements

      • 0% overnight travel required.

      Qualifications

      • Must be a current student enrolled or recently graduated (graduation date no earlier than April 2024) at/from an accredited college or university pursuing at least a bachelor’s degree.

      • A completed or in progress undergraduate, graduate, or doctoral degree in Biomedical Science, Public Health, Healthcare Management or a related discipline preferred.

      • Experience with systematic literature reviews and associated software tools preferred.

      • Strong academic record with a preferred cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.

      • Conscientious self-starter with good organizational skills, project management skills and attention to detail.

      • Ability to balance multiple projects and priorities, must be able to multi-task.

      • Strong interpersonal communication and ability to collaborate with teams; must effectively operate independently, across functional lines, and with internal customers.

      • Demonstrated personal initiative, self-motivation, flexibility, adaptability and willingness to learn.

      • Proficient in Microsoft Office Tools including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.
