Req ID 61109 Lommel, Antwerpen, Belgium

At our ZF Wind Power sites in Lommel and Antwerp, we are looking for interns/ graduate students to join our Technology R&D team for a period of six months starting as soon as possible.

ZF Wind Power puts wind energy in motion! The ZF Wind Power Business Unit is part of ZF group which is known as one of the world’s leading automotive suppliers. Within our unit we develop, validate and service gear units used in wind turbines producing sustainable energy and we have been doing this for more than 40 years! Today we build new drivetrain solutions to meet the requirements of the future.
As wind turbines continue to grow, we are continuously pushed outside of our engineering boundaries, which makes it a challenging engineering environment to work in.

We can provide internships or master theses in one of the following domains:

      • Finite Element Analysis on Sub-System and/or System Level
      • Multi-body simulation (MBS) utilizing Sim pack
      • Hydro Dynamic simulations of journal bearings

What you can look forward to:

      • Assessing the sensitivity of models to parameter variations by carrying out numeric empiric investigations, like Design of Experiments approaches
      • Validation of models by comparing measurement results to the simulation results
      • Research on state-of-the-art simulation techniques and modelling approaches
      • Automation of calculation processes by use of Python or MATLAB

      Your profile:

      • Studying towards a degree in Mechanical Engineering, or similar field of study.
      • Basic knowledge and/or first experience with finite element tools or multi-body simulation modelling is required.
      • Programming skills (Python and/or MATLAB) as well as basic knowledge of drive train and gear technology are an advantage.
      • Team spirit, analytical skills, quick comprehension, solution-oriented and independent working style, and strong communication skills.
      • Excellent communication skills in English.
