      Internship Location, Availability and Hours:
      Located in our downtown Milwaukee, WI office, the intern must be able to work part-time during the spring semester, 15-20 hours per week, and full time during the summer, 37.5-40 hours per week. We are seeking a local student who can start in January 2025.

      As a Public Finance Data & Analytics Intern, you will:

      • Work alongside the Public Finance School Business Solutions team with a focus on data analytics, profiling, modeling, visualization and data integration

      • Work with the team to gather and map data to create visuals in Power BI

      • Gain exposure to critical business data problems that help drive decisions

      • Manage all data sets from original source to SQL database and Power BI/Excel while troubleshooting data issues

      • Build school district budget forecast models through Excel and further streamline the build process

      • Assist other areas of Public Finance and Fixed Income with data needs as necessary

      What we look for:

      • Current student pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Business Analytics, MIS or related degree

      • Targeting May 2026 or later graduation dates

      • Experience with database systems, designing and building data repositories (SQL preferred)

      • Able to work with Power BI visualizations

      • Have a general interest and passion for data

      • Possess a natural curiosity in understanding the application of technology and data to solve business problems

      • Strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills

      • Exceptional organizational/time management skills and attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities at one time and meet all deadlines

      • A highly motivated, creative, strategic and analytical thinker and takes initiative to learn and contribute to the team

      • Strong work ethic and ability to function equally well in team settings and on a self-directed basis

      • Interest in learning about Public Finance and our work within K-12 school districts and finance

      • Prior internship or experience in an office setting preferred
