- Assist in triaging and investigating security alerts and incidents.
- Help document incident response procedures and lessons learned.
- Contribute to automation and improvement of incident response workflows.
- Contribute to knowledge-sharing sessions.
- Enrolled in a relevant degree program (e.g., Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Digital Forensics) at a Dutch institution.
- Familiar with basic networking and security concepts.
- Analytical, detail-oriented, and eager to learn.
- A team player with good communication skills.
- Able to handle sensitive information with the highest level of confidentiality and professionalism.
- Gain hands-on experience in a global financial institution.
- Work in a collaborative and innovative cyber defence environment.

Technicalities
The Opportunity
Are you passionate about cybersecurity and eager to gain hands-on experience in incident response and cyber threat management? Join our Security Defence Centre (SDC) as an intern and contribute to protecting ING from cyber threats. You’ll work alongside experienced incident responders, helping to detect, analyse, and respond to real-world security incidents.
The Team
The Security Defence Centre (SDC) is part of ING’s Global CISO organisation and is responsible for security incident management, threat response, and forensics. Our mission is to detect and mitigate cyber incidents and threats as quickly as possible to minimize business impact. As an intern, you’ll be immersed in daily security operations and will gain exposure to the tools, processes, and collaboration that drive our cyber defence operations.
