      Job Description

      We have a lot of opportunities to gain practical experience during the spring 2024. Below we’ve described them all in more detail. If you are curious to know more, please connect with the Supervisor that is connected to the Internship. Please note, you will see the time frames for the different internships in each section.

      Internship in Food Logistic Operations (2 Positions)
      You will get insights in how we in Food Logistics Operations secure product availability for our customers by taking operational responsibility for inbound and outbound flows in selected markets. By being part of Operational team in Category Food Logistics Services and get opportunity try out being first point of contact for Retail partners in product availability, capacity constraints and Food Supply chain operations (execution part). During this internship period you will gain practical experience in Food Logistic Operations via interacting with Retail partners and Logistic Service Providers in order management process.

      Period: Between w.06 to w.22, minimum 3 months with a possibility to gain experience in operations

      Internship as a Category business analyst
      In this internship you will be working with multiple Business Teams and have the opportunity to try out collecting, organizing, interpreting, and analysing data related to purchasing activities. You will gain practical experience of preparing and visualization the different source of data, showing the history, trends, benchmarking, and connections between different data. In this internship you will also have the opportunity to gain experience with the RFQ process with IKEA tools to create optimal sourcing set-ups.

      Period: Between w. 03 to w. 22, 2024.

      Internship in Plastic Raw material team
      Supply Area North Älmhult is a purchasing organization where business unit Plastic Raw Material is a part of Category Plastics Products. They secure purchasing of raw material from a global supplier base to IKEA home furnishing suppliers located globally. In this internship you will get the opportunity to be a part of the creation for a structured database for material characterization data, from one of our testing laboratories. You will also try out how to organize the common business information database, where we aim to do this in a more structured and simplified way.

      Period: w. 09 to w. 26, 2024.

      Internship in Indirect Procurement as a Data Analyst

      Category Area Indirect Procurement lead the indirect procurement of products and services across the Inter IKEA Group companies and ensure a common approach for indirect procurement at Group level.

      In this internship you will be discovering the Business Navigation Function in Category Area Indirect Procurement and have the opportunity to try out collecting, organizing, interpreting, and analyzing data related to purchasing activities in the form of transactional data. You will gain practical experience of understanding the different correlations of the data on supplier, entity and Business Category levels, showing the history, identifying trends and benchmarking. In this internship you will also have the opportunity to gain experience on how we can synthesize a story on the data insights we gather, visualize and present them to our Business, so that they can act upon them.

      Period: Between w. 06 to w. 26, 2024.

      Internship as a Transport Planner
      In this internship you will get to be part of a team and together with them get the opportunity to connect with our carriers and other stakeholders in the Supply Chain where the team works with finding the optimal transport solution. You will also get to understand how the team works with securing the total logistical operational performance from end-to-end perspective, how they book optimal transport solutions as well as how they monitor and follow-up the shipments to secure availability of our products for our customers.

      Period: Between w. 06 to w. 22, 2024.

      Supervisor: Villiam Christiansson, Gordan a Stankovski and Linnéa Bohlin

      Internship with Operational Procurement Team in Category Area Indirect Procurement.

      In this internship you will get an understanding about how indirect procurement works in general and in IKEA. What our policy is, what our processes are and what happens from that we identify the need to paying the invoice. You will get to learn about our system called Common Procurement Platform (COPP), where you will together with the team try out to register suppliers, uploading contracts and agreements and update information details. Further you will also get to understand how we collaborate with stakeholders to secure a compliant and efficient Procure to Pay flow.

      Period: Between w. 05 to w. 25, 2024.

      In all these internships you will be part of an international, fast-changing and exciting environment at IKEA. We really value a service-minded person with strong communication skills. You have a lot of curiosity and energy. Your willingness to learn and adapt to new circumstances and challenges is a key feature!

      We believe that you have
      - Started your university education/or university of applied science (YH) within logistics/supply chain/business/economics or equivalent

      We believe that you are
      - Fluent in English, both written and verbally

      Additional Information

      Please noted all positions are based in Älmhult, Sweden and internship period is depending on position. If you are interested in more than one internship – specify this in your application.
