      Axel Springer’s News Media International (NMI) department oversees the company’s media assets in Europe and the US. These include our news sites Insider, POLITICO, Upday, RASMAG, MediaPioneer, and Finanzen.net, as well as our digital marketplaces Awin and Bonial. Our team is a trusted advisor and sparring partner for our assets’ executives and Axel Springer’s top managers. We oversee and support high-impact projects to help reach our portfolio companies’ strategic goals and support Axel Springer's leadership in actively growing the company through new investments.

      Job Description

      Strategic Investment & Portfolio Management intern

      • you support complex projects in all areas of business and corporate development related to our portfolio companies
      • you develop and assess business plans for business initiatives, portfolio companies and potential M&A targets
      • you support due diligence processes for potential acquisitions
      • you conduct competitor analyses, identify market trends and turn them into actionable data and presentations
      • you carry out web analytics and market research
      • you support the preparation of presentations for the Executive Board and other management meetings

      Qualifications

      currently enrolled undergraduate or graduate student in Business Administration, Business Informatics, Economics, or a comparable field at a top university

      • you have a strong interest in digital media and digital business models
      • you have already gained initial experience in strategy consulting, venture capital, investment banking or an entrepreneurial role in a startup
      • you are well-versed in working with numbers and data
      • you are fluent in English, another European mother tongue is an advantage (especially German, French or Polish)
      • you are familiar with MS Office, especially PowerPoint and Excel
      • you are able to distinguish in primary and secondary issues, immerse into the subject matter and identify connections
      • you strive for effective collaboration with co-workers and other teams
