- Must be an undergraduate student majoring in psychology or public health at an accredited university. Interests in research, health and wellbeing, and the social determinants of health are pluses.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
- This is a paid internship requiring ~30 hours worked per week from mid-June through the end of August 2025.
- The internship is a fully remote position. Interns must reside in a state that meets APA’s residency requirement. Interns in the Washington, DC area have the option to work in the APA building.
- Enhance information management skills; this intern will focus on growing the population health repository of experts, literature, and best practices.
- Improve research skills, including a better understanding of how evidence is gathered, analyzed, and applied in real-world projects.
- Improve communication, critical thinking, and collaboration skills by working with the Science Governance and Innovation team to refine ongoing projects and reports.
About the Science Governance and Innovation Office at APA
The Science Governance and Innovation Office at the American Psychological Association leads organizational strategic planning and supports the implementation of a population health approach to behavioral health, an organizational priority. Activities include developing internal and external resources that elevate the role of psychology and psychologists in adopting a population health approach. This includes developing a repository of population health experts, examples of the approach in the field, and summaries of recent literature. Other office activities include providing staff support to the Board on Scientific Affairs and its governance bodies pertaining to psychological science, including the Committee on Psychological Tests and Assessments. APA Science Innovation is hiring a paid summer undergraduate intern.

Job Location - Remote: APA internships may be considered for remote work eligibility as defined in APA’s Flexible Work Policy and are subject to approval.
