Inventory Control Specialist
Springfield, MO
Description
The Inventory Control Specialist will maintain the organization’s inventory while working closely with the procurement team and warehouse staff to control the flow and maintain accurate records. The Inventory Control Specialist will have direct supervision over the warehouse staff.
Responsibilities:
-Inventory Management: Proficient understanding of inventory control procedures and computerized inventory systems.
-Forklift Operation: Certification preferred, indicating the ability to operate a forklift truck when necessary.
-PC Skills: Proficiency in Office Suite and ability to manage and maintain inventory systems, including facilitating upgrades.
Analytical Skills:
-Attention to Detail: Extremely organized with careful attention to detail, ensuring accurate records and thorough vetting of adjustments.
-Basic Math: Ability to perform basic math calculations for inventory management and reporting.
Leadership Skills:
-Team Management: Successfully manage a team of material handlers, establishing KPIs and ensuring high productivity levels.
-Communication: Excellent communication skills to develop professional relationships with warehouse workers, purchasing department, and outside vendors.
Operational Skills:
-Cycle Count Program Management: Assisting and managing a cycle count program, ensuring adjustments are thoroughly vetted.
-Physical Inventory Audits: Assisting with periodic physical inventory audits.
Strategic Skills:
-Continuous Improvement: Identifying and driving Continuous Improvement (CI) opportunities, with prior Lean/Six Sigma experience being a plus.
-Just-in-Time Inventory: Working with purchasing to maximize the ability to stock and store just-in-time inventory.
Physical Skills:
-Warehouse Navigation: Ability to navigate the warehouse while moving and lifting items up to 40 pounds

Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Experience with computerized inventory systems required.
- Supervisor experience preferred.
- Forklift operator certification preferred.
- Excellent communication skills, developing professional relationships with warehouse workers, purchasing department, and outside vendors.
- Proficient understanding of inventory control procedures.
- Proficient PC skills including Office Suite
- Extremely organized, careful attention to detail and able to work with minimum supervision.
-Ability to perform basic math calculations.
-Able to sit for prolonged periods at a time.
-Able to navigate the warehouse while moving and lifting top/lower stocked items up to 40 pounds.
-Will play an active role in identifying and driving Continuous Improvement (CI) opportunity.
-Prior Lean/Six Sigma experience a plus
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $45000.00 - $60000.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Springfield,MO.
