This role is critical during a period of rapid growth for DP World Contract Logistics in US and Mexico. The Inventory Launch Manager plays a key role in implementing new business with excellence—delivering scalable, high-performing, and sustainable operations that meet DP World's standard by executing our proven launch blueprint.

The Inventory Launch Manager is responsible for implementing inventory control systems, material flows, and slotting strategies during site launches. This role partners closely with Engineering to optimize cube utilization, supports the setup of inventory audits, and leads training to ensure long-term inventory accuracy. The role collaborates cross-functionally and integrates system implementations to support operational readiness.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Lead and coordinate inventory control system launches for new contract logistics projects
• Develop detailed project plans, timelines, and milestones
• Collaborate with internal teams, clients, and suppliers to ensure timely execution
• Monitor and report progress, resolving issues to ensure successful launches
• Execute launch blueprints and oversee operational startup activities
• Define and refine inventory control processes in alignment with best practices and system requirements
• Implement cycle counting, physical counts, and audit procedures
• Lead root cause analysis and resolution of inventory discrepancies during and post-launch
• Partner with Engineering to define slotting strategies and optimize cube utilization
• Oversee integration of inventory control systems with WMS, ERP, and other logistics platforms
• Ensure proper data migration and WMS alignment with physical inventory and material flow
• Provide support during system testing phases
• Develop and deliver training materials for inventory control procedures, audits, and system usage
• Guide teams through implementation of core management practices like visual management, start-of-shift meetings, and line rosters
• Serve as a point of contact for issue resolution and post-launch support
• Track KPIs including inventory accuracy, stock levels, and fulfillment rates
• Conduct regular audits and provide detailed performance reports to leadership
• Use visual tools to communicate performance and drive accountability
• Integrate Lean methodologies including Gemba walks, Root Cause Analysis (RCA), standardized work, and process audits into operations
• Identify areas for cost reduction and efficiency gains
• Recommend improvements to inventory strategies to support evolving business needs
• Partner with operations, logistics, IT, customer service, and engineering teams
• Ensure alignment between inventory control strategies and broader organizational goals

QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• 3+ years of experience in inventory control, warehouse operations, or supply chain planning, preferably in a contract logistics or 3PL environment
• Strong understanding of WMS and ERP systems
• Proven success in managing system implementations or launches
• Experience with slotting, material flow planning, and inventory audits
• Excellent project management and organizational skills
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Willingness to travel 50–70% of the time, including extended site stays

PREFERRED:

• PMP certification or similar credentials
• Experience with system integrations or software customization
• Formal training or certification in Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement
