General understanding of investment and client data.
Basic business analysis or systems analysis experience in the financial services sector.

Proactively identify issues and opportunities for improved methods and approaches to support processes
Answering functional and technical questions from business partners and colleagues.
Identifying production incidents, determining root cause, appropriate corrective actions, and follow-up.
Work with Technologists to capture, socialize, and implement new system designs and enhancements.
Communicate with and sharing information with other support analysts within the team.
Assist and cover routine tasks (daily and monthly).
Studying towards a Bachelor’s degree, applicants should be in their penultimate year of study.
Have a consistent track record of academic and extra-curricular achievements
Have the ability to be a strategic-thinker, self-starter and the willingness to learn from and collaborate with colleagues
Have the ability to work independently, in a fast-paced and team-oriented environment where priorities change frequently
Have strong system skills, in particular familiarity and versatility in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Familiarity with Salesforce is a plus.
Some coding skills preferred (VBA, Python, SQL)

About the Role
The Position
The candidate will support different teams within Investment Services & Technology (InvesTech) Group in Sydney. Within InvesTech, we have Data Operations & Technology, Client Investment Services, Infrastructure Design and Solutions, Fund & Client Operations, and Investment Implementation Services. Here, you will develop the foundation to become successful in a career in financial operations and technology, working as a Data Operations and Technology Intern in the InvesTech APAC group. You will receive training and skill building opportunities to develop expertise in the processes and technology that drive asset management, portfolio analysis, funds, client and investor engagement.
We will encourage the individual to be curious, ask questions and suggest improvements to any existing processes. By the end of the assignment, this individual is expected to have a good understanding of the role and how Investment Services & Technology supports the investment process regionally and within the firm.
InvesTech APAC Intern, the role represents an opportunity to be a part of the Infrastructure Platform. The Intern will play a critical role in assisting experienced investment services & technology analysts, managers and team leads in creating tools and ideas which will improve the decision-making process, operations function and what is required to be effective in the Asset Management field.
Some desired skills that the intern may require but not exhaustive:
The position is based in our Sydney office, with regular business hours from Monday to Friday.
This internship will run for a period of 6 months with an option to extend for a further 6 months. The successful candidate can either apply for a leave of absence from university if applicable or amend their studies to be part time. Candidates must have work visa eligibility for the duration of the internship.

Interview Process
Candidates will be notified of their application status via email after the application deadline. If selected to continue, first round phone screens will be scheduled. Final round interviews will take place in January 2024 in our Sydney office (or virtually if candidate is not Sydney-based).
