What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Conduct moderately complex investigations to determine if Unemployment Insurance (UI) benefit payment was properly made
- Mine and analyze unemployment insurance claims data, trends, and procedures
- Perform heavy telephone contact with the public utilizing strong interviewing and communication skills
- Respond to oral and written inquiries from claimants, employers, and agency staff to provide customer support in a busy work environment
- Examine, review, and audit UI claim records

What is Required (Qualifications):
- Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university plus one year of full-time experience performing auditing or investigating work; or unemployment insurance claims examiner tasks; or gathering of information, interviewing, counseling or in the instruction, demonstration, and interpretation of policies in a public or private enterprise
- One year of qualifying experience may be substituted for each year (30 semester hours) of education
- Recent UI experience and knowledge of UI regulations
- Ability to work quickly, perform multiple tasks, pay attention to detail, and adhere to telephone schedules and strict deadlines
- Investigation experience
