What will you do?
Investment analyst efficiently manage investment functions for internal and external stakeholders. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the investment landscape within a dynamic team environment.
What will make you successful in this role?
Provide investment analysis and recommendations on current investments
Recommend optimal financial and operational structures for current investments and / or exit strategies
Conduct valuation utilising, amongst other techniques, discounted cash flow, earnings multiples, comparables and net value valuation methodologies / protocols
Conduct due diligence investigations
Draft investment and executive reports for investors
Manage the portfolio/s of investments effectively, ensuring;
o Adherence to mandates
o Proper risk management
Communicate effectively with team of analysts in the various industries in order to:
o Facilitate decision on new investments
o Keep up to date with the investee companies’ business
Regularly keep the CEO informed of significant developments regarding the portfolio/s
Develop and monitor financial models
Review and report IRR’s time weighted and times money back performance numbers submitted by independent parties as to adhere to industry standards
Gain market and investment opportunity analysis
Advise and assist on all prospective and current investments
Substantial contact and networking base
Lead all aspects of establishing and maintaining a research database on all sectors and companies SIMN covers as well as gathering market intelligence of the international and local private equity market
Actively assist PM in driving Investment Committee
Assist Client Services & Portfolio Administration teamQualification and Experience
CA or equivalent tertiary qualification
Investment management exposure
CFA qualification would be advantageous
Experience in Corporate Finance or Private Equity
Good working knowledge of financial markets, instruments and sectorsKnowledge and Skills
Be proactive and work without constant supervision
Produce a high-quality work product, especially under tight deadlines
Be prepared to work beyond the regular business hours when necessary
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Proficiency in English and/or additional local Namibian language will be a competitive advantage
Be a team player
Strong attention to detail
Computer Literacy in MS Office (Word, Outlook, Excel & PowerPoint) and Company’s softwarePersonal Attributes
