- Relevant Investment Banking (corporate finance/M&A) experience or equivalent
- Fluent in English; ability to communicate effectively in multiple languages is helpful
- Collaboration with Coverage and Capital Markets groups, as well as cross-functional teams, including legal, compliance, and other stakeholders, to originate and execute successful M&A transactions. .
- Conducting in-depth financial analysis, including modelling and valuation, to assess potential M&A opportunities, risks and mitigation action, alongside their impact on clients' financial positions and alignment with the clients’ strategic objectives. .
- Structuring the deal and negotiating terms, collaborating with legal and financial colleagues to ensure that the deal is fair from a financial point of view .
- Coordination of client’s due diligence processes, including tax, legal, financial, and operational assessments of potential target companies. .
- Management of various aspects of M&A transactions, ensuring they progress efficiently and meet client expectations. .
- Advise key stakeholders, including functional leadership teams and senior management on functional and cross functional areas of impact and alignment.
- Manage and mitigate risks through assessment, in support of the control and governance agenda.
- Demonstrate leadership and accountability for managing risk and strengthening controls in relation to the work your team does.
- Demonstrate comprehensive understanding of the organisation functions to contribute to achieving the goals of the business.
- Collaborate with other areas of work, for business aligned support areas to keep up to speed with business activity and the business strategies.
- Create solutions based on sophisticated analytical thought comparing and selecting complex alternatives. In-depth analysis with interpretative thinking will be required to define problems and develop innovative solutions.
- Adopt and include the outcomes of extensive research in problem solving processes.
- Seek out, build and maintain trusting relationships and partnerships with internal and external stakeholders in order to accomplish key business objectives, using influencing and negotiating skills to achieve outcomes.

Barclays' Investment Banking division provides comprehensive financial advisory, capital raising, financing and risk management services to corporations, governments and financial institutions worldwide. We take an integrated approach to client coverage, providing our clients with access to bankers who have industry and geography specific expertise across all investment banking products.
The Mergers and Acquisitions team work on complex transactions, providing our clients across the public and private spectrum a full range of M&A advice including executing public to privates, company sales, divestitures and carve-outs; defense, activism and strategic financial advice and cross-board merger and joint venture structuring.

This role is deemed as a Certified role under the PRA & UK Financial Conduct Authority - Individual Accountabilities Regulations and may require the role holder to hold mandatory regulatory qualifications or the minimum qualifications to meet internal company benchmarks.
