      The Head of GCIB North America is responsible for numerous business initiatives across Investment Banking, Corporate Banking and Capital Markets. We are looking for an Investment Banker who is interested in working on strategic projects alongside senior members of the firm, while driving Middle Market initiatives across GCIB North America.

      The US Middle Market initiative, which is strategic priority of the firm, is one of those projects. The initiative was launched in early 2023 with the goal of increasing connectivity between Global Investment Banking (IBK) and Global Commercial Banking (GCB) to drive our overall middle market investment banking market share, as well as leveraging existing GCIB relationships to help broaden GCB coverage. This initiative is timely given recent market developments and involves complexity across groups, products and other lines of business. The Head of GCIB North America is responsible for overseeing the initiative and driving the execution along with partners from GCB.

      The candidate will coordinate with IBK, Capital Markets and GCB bankers, as well as working with senior partners across GCIB and GCB. The role will require an individual to oversee various aspects of the initiative from idea to execution and, also involve projects that will cut across different business lines and areas of the bank – GCB, GWIM, GCIB, Market Presidents, Local Market Organization, etc.

      We are looking for someone who demonstrates a combination of business aptitude, quantitative skills, strategic and creative thinking, as well as strong written and oral communication skills. The individual should be self-sufficient and able to take initiative. The role will also entail working on other broader client initiatives across GCIB.

      Responsibilities:

      • Interact extensively with various parts of the bank and work closely with senior management
      • Oversee all aspects of the initiative from idea to execution
      • Drive communication across sectors and present on all aspects of the initiative
      • Assist in creating presentations on strategy, business performance, status on initiatives and other materials
      • Generate weekly and monthly reporting (including creating/maintaining key KPIs)
      • Be a knowledgeable resource and point person who can efficiently facilitate the team's day-to-day operations
      • Enthusiasm to take on new and challenging tasks in dynamic environment

      Required skills: “Must” have these skills to be minimally qualified.

      • 5+ years’ GCIB experience
      • Degree preferred or equivalent work experience

      Desired skills: Experience in Middle Market sector highly preferred
