Perform a wide variety of tasks to support product or coverage area, sales, or trading within the Securities and Corporate & Investment Banking and Markets Divisions
Perform tasks in support of transactions, financial or statistical analysis, due diligence, collecting, compiling, and analyzing data
Review and analyze basic business, operational, or technical assignments or challenges that require research, evaluation, and selection of alternatives, and exercise independent judgement to guide medium risk deliverables within Investment Banking functional area
Present recommendations for resolving more complex situations and exercise independent judgement while developing expertise within Investment Banking functional area, policies, procedures, and compliance requirements
Collaborate and consult with Investment Banking colleagues, internal partners, and stakeholders, including internal as well as external customers
2+ years financial services industry experience or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Prior experience in structured finance or capital markets, investment banking or related industry through internships, part-time or full-time work, and/or extra-curricular activities, experience in origination products is preferred
Prior client-facing experience, such as front office roles
Excellent Microsoft Office skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Highly refined and professional verbal and written communications
Strong analytical and quantitative skills
Strong organizational, multi-tasking and prioritizing skills with strong attention to detail
Willingness to work long hours in a demanding, highly focused, collaborative, and team environment
Product knowledge, technical expertise, transaction execution and negotiation skills
A BS/BA degree or higher in business administration, economics, finance, or related field or equivalent experience
Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
Registration for FINRA Series 63 (or 66) must be completed within 90 days of hire date if it is not available for transfer upon hire. FINRA recognized equivalents will be accepted.
Registration for FINRA Series 79 must be completed within 90 days of hire date if it is not available for transfer upon hire. FINRA recognized equivalents will be accepted.
Registration for Securities Industry Essentials (SIE) exam must be completed within 90 days of hire date if it is not available for transfer upon hire. FINRA recognized equivalents will be accepted
About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking an Investment Banking Associate – Asset Backed Securitization & Lending as part of Corporate & Investment Banking (CIB). The Asset-Backed Securitization & Lending (ABS&L) group within the Structured Products Group provides financing (warehouse, permanent, term) and capital markets execution to companies that originate or invest in non-mortgage consumer and commercial receivables including credit cards, auto loans/leases/floorplan, student loans, timeshare, equipment, operating assets, whole business and unsecured consumer loans.
