As a 12-month intern with Quilter Cheviot, you will gain valuable hands-on experience in the world of investment management. Over the course of the internship, you will have the opportunity to rotate through three core departments, providing you with a well-rounded understanding of the company and its activities.
The 12-month contract will be located at our headquarters in London, however, upon successful completion of the internship, you may be offered a position within one of our front office teams, nationwide.
You will be exposed to the daily tasks and responsibilities associated with investment management, as well as working on challenging ad-hoc projects, allowing you to put your skills and knowledge into practice. The teams you will be joining are:
Front Office – the face of the company, responsible for interacting with clients, managing investments, and making strategic financial decisions.
In our Front Office teams, you will play a crucial role in supporting our investment managers. Your responsibilities will include assisting with portfolio reviews, day-to-day administration support, documenting client relationships, and preparing client presentations and reports. You may also have the opportunity to arrange and attend investment meetings with our clients.
Research – responsible for analysing financial markets, identifying investment opportunities and making recommendations to our Front Office teams. Time will also be spent with the Responsible Investment and Investment Risk teams to give exposure to all areas that support Research in their work.
Providing overall support to our Research teams, responsibilities include assisting with stock and fund analysis and supervised stock and fund research, developing and distributing research material and presentations, and ad-hoc administrative duties.
Operations – responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient functioning of our operations, including trade processing and settlements, revenue management and account opening.
Beyond trade processing the wider Operations department consists of Valuations, Records, CASS Governance, Custody (processing client joiners and leavers) ISA Administration, Dividends, Corporate Actions, Operational Tax, MPS Administration and Cashiering.

About You
Our Front Office Intern Programme is open to candidates with or without a degree, all we request is that you have completed any studies prior to July 2024, when the programme starts.
As part of the programme, we will support you in obtaining Unit 1 of the CISI Investment Operations Certificate, the ‘Introduction to Securities and Investment’.
Should you then be successful in completing the programme and then go on to be offered a permanent role within the front office, you will be required to study towards the relevant qualifications to be certified in your role.
