A strong academic background in quantitative or mathematical disciplines (Economics, Finance, Maths or Physics major preferred).
Advanced Excel skills and programming experience in Python. (VBA also preferred.)
Familiarity and understanding of risk factor models strongly preferred, along with an understanding of equity style factors. Experience with Aladdin (Explore) is a significant advantage.
Interest in equity fundamentals, financial markets, and asset management industry.
Strong written and verbal interpersonal skills, with the ability to form clear, well organised narratives. A key responsibility will be providing regular updates and commentaries to the team on risk and performance drivers, and significant portfolio changes. Collaborative/team-oriented character.

Investment Risk Analyst – London
This Is a great job for someone who has relevant experience in the finance industry (preferably asset management or another financial institution), but entry-level candidates with applicable skills and knowledge are also welcomed to apply.
A bit about the job:
The Risk Analyst will be a member of the second line Global Investment Risk team, focusing on the Equities asset class and fund range. The Global Investment Risk team is part of the broader Risk function, reporting to the Chief Risk Officer (‘CRO’). The Global Investment Risk team is responsible for providing expert analysis and challenge to the portfolio managers, as well as performing continuous monitoring and oversight of investment risks borne by Aviva Investors (‘AI’) clients. Where necessary, they are responsible for escalating concerns to the CRO and at relevant Boards/Committees.
This job involves ensuring the timely and accurate production of various reports that feed into investment risk and performance meetings with the equity portfolio managers, that go to Boards/Committees, and reporting as required by regulations. Applicants with experience of successfully automating workflows are welcomed. The ability to understand the logic of existing automated solutions, and to diagnose/adapt those solutions where issues or changes are required, will be important.
The Equity Investment Risk team is expected to draw insights, make recommendations, and help to interpret outputs from the equity risk factor model to relevant stakeholders, particularly the portfolio management team. As such, applicants should have strong quantitative, theoretical, and technical aptitude.
