Job Summary
The Bessemer Trust is seeking talented interns to join our Investments Department. This exciting opportunity will give interns the opportunity to assist the Investment Department’s Chief Investment Officer (CIO), investment strategists, group heads, portfolio managers, and their teams in all aspects of macroeconomic, equity, fixed income, and external manager-specific research.
The Bessemer Trust Internship Program:
Our summer internship program offers real world experience working side-by-side with experts from departments and offices across our firm. Working within your designated team, you will manage individual and group projects, interact with senior leaders, and attend a variety of career development sessions. You will also network with fellow interns in-person and virtually, as well as during our intern days held in our New York headquarters.This 10-week program is designed to mimic the experience of a full-time employee, providing an opportunity to build subject matter expertise and enhance your career at Bessemer and beyond.
Responsibilities:
Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to, analysis of various macroeconomic factors, industry and sector analysis, external manager selection research, specific stock or bond research, including financial model construction and asset valuation.
Several investment teams are open to 2025 intern applications:
· Equities : Portfolio managers and equity analysts managing several internal equity strategies across various market capitalizations and geographies. Conduct deep fundamental research and analysis on individual companies consistent with each team’s investment process and strategy. In addition to rigorous financial analysis, research will include interacting with industry or subject matter experts, company executives, and third-party research providers.
· Private Markets : Manages the firm’s fund of funds private markets program, which includes both private equity and real assets funds. Researches and analyzes external private equity and real asset managers for the firm’s long-standing private markets funds.
Qualifications:
· Candidates will be in pursuit of a Bachelor’s degree, preferably between junior and senior years, with excellent academic credentials;
· Excellent analytical, quantitative, verbal and written communication skills;
· Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint;
· Candidates must be team-oriented, results-driven, a self-starter, and possess a “can-do” attitude;
· Candidates must possess both a desire to continuously learn and an inherent intellectual curiosity.
Compensation will range between $24-$26 per hour.
