      Job Description

      This position provides IT support to Laboratory systems as a subject matter expert and secondary support to other systems within the Applications Solutions Group. Position researches and writes technical design specifications, flowcharts, and test scripts. Position acquires and organizes source material including applicable specifications and technical writeups. Coordinates the systems installation with the user department, ensuring satisfactory results. May participate in smaller-scope portions of a larger project as assigned. Works with off-the-shelf systems and modifies features. Responsible for end users’ training on assigned systems, as needed. Works with vendors, depending on systems assigned, on technical requests. Assists with the development and execution of test plans in cooperation with the project team. May also be responsible for report writing in applications. Completes other duties as assigned.

      Associate's degree or experience in a Healthcare IT or Clinical Laboratory setting in lieu of degree required.

      • Establishes effective working relationships with vendors, staff, peers and both internal and external customers.
      • Accepts coaching and mentoring from more senior coworkers and/or manager.
      • Manages conflict with peers and team members.
      • Ability to work a multiple-managed environment receiving directions from multiple managers.
      • Provides 24-hour on-call support when assigned in tandem with mentor.
      • Maintains accurate and timely change management documentation.
      • Develops an understanding and works with standard methods and procedures.
      • Communicates well, both verbally and written.
      • Evaluates issues and escalates to more senior staff when appropriate.
      • Develops and maintains technical and operational documentation of assigned applications.
      • Supports production environment for assigned applications.
      • Exhibits capacity to learn basic problem identification analysis and resolution skills.
      • Knows when and what resources to leverage for production requests and incidents.
      • Understands customers’ work processes and workflow to assist in the identification and documentation of user s’ functional specifications.
      • Begins developing knowledge of hea lt hcare industry-specific processes.
      • Works with customers on application issues and provide s timely response to customers’ requests and inquiries.
      • Develops expertise and functional knowledge in applications assigned.
      • Identifies process improvement initiatives f or customers using IT resources.
      • Works under pressure and demonstrates flexibility in a changing environment.
      • Applies lessons learned to future situations to improve performance.
      • Follows best practices and shares with end users to improve application and use of technology.
      • Achieves vendor required certifications.
      • Obtains and maintains certifications and/or training necessary for assigned applications.
      • Completes mandatory system training .
      • Maintains assigned tasks on project plans.
      • Maintains list of production and project-related application issues.
      • Develops meeting minutes and agendas.
      • Works independently.
      • Multitasks and prioritizes tasks .
