      Basic Purpose

      As an application engineer this role will provide 24/7 level 2 production support to a Connex application. As a Connex SME this role will liaison with various groups within NFCU to ensure operational readiness and effective life cycle of the application

      Responsibilities

      • This position will be part of BSS1, responsible for 24x7 production Support of the Connex application.
      • Drive and evolve the Level 2 Operational Support Plan for the Connex application
      • Responsible for Full life-cycle project management of COTS applications used by our business partners.
      • Provide on-call support in the instances of outages as well as be available for change and deployment scheduled work.
      • Work with and be part of project teams. This role will collaborate with various teams such as engineering, networking, database administration, enterprise data management, enterprise architecture, data center operations, application owners, project management, compliance and information/physical security to develop and maintain security applications.
      • Apply engineering principles into the design and enhancement of new and existing systems
      • Document new system components, or modifications to existing components
      • Ensure the security and integrity of system and product solutions including compliance with Navy Federal, industry engineering and Information Security principles and practices•Perform engineering tasks and assignments in support of business needs
      • Perform engineering technology research, procurement, deployment, and configuration for new and modified systems
      • Present clear, organized and concise information to all audiences through a variety of media to enable effective business decisions
      • Lead complex or high severity troubleshooting and incident problem resolutions with multiple other teams
      • Translate business needs into workable technology solutions that meet the needs of internal customers
      • Perform other duties and or special projects as assigned.

      Qualifications

      • 2-5 years of Connex and ATM/POS experience
      • Minimum 2 years of experience in database, networking, storage and system administration is required.
      • Experience with SQL, Toad, Splunk, and Alert/Event monitoring
      • Working knowledge of MQ Mainframe
      • Experience in troubleshooting and working crossfunctionally to resolve day to day operational issues
      • Working knowledge of the Major Incident Management process
      • Ability to create requirements, functional specifications and design documents for tier 2 support.
      • Experience with server based applications support and maintenance needs, (Both Physical and Virtual server environments) such as vulnerability patching, access control, major/minor version upgrades and controlled change window cycles.
      • Full systems engineering lifecycle experience (Requirements, Analysis, System design, Build, Monitoring, Support procedures).
      • Should be able to work as team member as well as independently.

      • Adobe Level 2 support

      Hours: Monday - Friday, 8:00AM - 4:30PM (On-call and after-hours support required)

      Navy Federal is now hybrid! Our standard enterprise requirement for a hybrid schedule is to report on-site 4-16 days each month. The number of days reporting on-site will ultimately be determined by the employee's leadership and business unit needs. You will learn more throughout the hiring and on boarding process.

      Salary Range: $87,800 - $160,900 (Level III) annually
      $101,000- $185,200 (Level IV) annually

      Navy Federal Credit Union assesses market data to establish salary ranges that enable us to remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range, based on your experience, location and market position.
