- Degree, diploma in computer science, information technology, business administration, public administration, natural resource management or a related field.
- Two years of recent experience (within past 5 years) in project management and/or business analysis related to integrated custom and/ or COTS applications with complex business processes.
- Experience with application development and design and system development life cycle.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
- Degree, diploma in computer science or information technology.
- Three years of recent (within the past 5 years) project management experience in the IMIT domain.
- Project Management Professional designation or Project Management Certificate or qualified to complete the Project Management Professional designation within 6 months of commencement.

Natural Resource Information & Digital Services (NRIDS) is the information management/information technology (IM/IT) service provider and organizational partner to the Natural Resource Ministries (NRM). As the centralized authority for all information, geospatial data, and technology across the NRM, NRIDS is leading the transformation and modernization of business practices through new and innovative technology solutions, continuous improvement projects and operational IM/IT solutions.
NRIDS provides broad information management services and leadership in data custodianship by way of the creation, maintenance and publication of foundational datasets and geospatial information. NRIDS is also responsible for the full range of services to maintain and support all existing IT systems for the NRM as well as the development of new applications to deliver on government objectives. NRIDS is committed to client engagement and understanding the business needs of the NRM to identify where expert knowledge, technology and data/information solutions will help the sector deliver their programs and services more effectively.
The Project Manager will manage projects with significant impact, a range of stakeholders and assigned resources. As project manager, you will be accountable for defining and controlling all project activities to ensure delivery within scope, schedule, budget and specified quality. The Project Manager will also provide business analysis and client support services including conducting joint technology planning sessions with clients to identify and document business situations requiring technological and transformational solutions; prepare proposals, briefing notes and client communications; and provide other required business analyst and project manager support to projects and applications NRIDS is responsible for.

About this Position:
Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to 3 days at home per week subject to an approved telework agreement.
This is for a temporary opportunity until October 31, 2024. This temporary appointment may become permanent.
This position can be based in any Ministry of Water, Land, and Resource Stewardship office. Some of the locations available are Victoria, Prince George, Kamloops, Vancouver, Nanaimo, Surrey, Kelowna, Chilliwack, Campbell River, Fort Nelson, Nelson, Smithers and Williams Lake. The locations listed are to assist applicants in searching for this opportunity and are not a fulsome list of locations. Alternate locations may be considered.
