      JOB OVERVIEW

      The UX Designer is responsible for researching, designing, and improving the user experience of a product such as a form, website or application. You use human-centered design methods and conduct research to understand user needs together with your team. You create user-friendly products and contribute to digital modernization efforts in government. You understand how your product interacts with broader service operations and how it is connected into policy and governance structures. You can structure and visualize information so that others can understand it and create prototypes for testing by using tools like Mural, Axure RP, and Figma.

      Furthermore, the UX designer assists with facilitating and training workshops, designing corporate service design guides and resources and building partnerships to promote human-centered design in government. You excel at understanding various viewpoints and work closely with a range of roles, including service designers, service providers, executive leadership, developers, product owners, policy analysts, and researchers. Partnership and network building is key to your success.

      JOB REQUIRMENTS:

      Education and Experience

      • Degree or diploma in Service Design, User Experience (UX) Design, Interaction Design, Computer Science, Communications or Social Sciences; OR an equivalent combination of related experience and/or education may be considered.
      • A minimum of 1 year of training or experience in utilizing human-centered design methods to design and deliver services including experience in EACH of the following:
        • Design research
        • Prototyping and wireframing with tools like Mural, Figma, Adobe XD
        • User experience and user interface design

      Preference may be given to candidates with the following:

      • Workshop design and facilitation
      • Working on an agile product team
      • Conceptual and strategic systems thinking
      • Understanding of how product design interacts with service design.

      About this Position:

      This is a temporary opportunity until March 31, 2025, this temporary opportunity may become permanent or extended.
