      As a Cloud Services Intern at Norfolk Southern you will have the opportunity to work on exciting and challenging projects within our Cloud Services Team. You will assist in the design, implementation, and maintenance of our cloud-based infrastructure, helping to ensure that our systems are scalable, reliable, and secure.

      Responsibilities

      • Infrastructure Monitoring and Maintenance: Assist in monitoring the health and performance of our cloud services, identifying, and resolving issues proactively.
      • Infrastructure Automation: Work on automating routine infrastructure tasks using scripting or infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
      • Security and Compliance: Support the implementation of security best practices and compliance standards within the cloud environment.
      • Documentation: Create and maintain detailed documentation for infrastructure configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
      • Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software engineers and DevSecOps, to support the development and management of cloud-based applications.
      • Problem Solving: Participate in troubleshooting and resolving infrastructure-related issues and incidents.
      • Research and Innovation: Stay up-to-date with the latest cloud technologies and contribute innovative ideas to enhance our cloud services.

      • Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies and concepts.

      Education Qualifications:

      • Enrolled in BS program during the Spring or Summer 2024 term.
      • Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
      • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure is a plus.
      • Experience or exposure to scripting languages (e.g., Python, Bash)

      Work Conditions:

      • Monday through Friday, 40 hours a week in our midtown Atlanta (650 W Peachtree St.)
      • Spring: 1/22/2024 - 04/26/2024
      • Summer: 5/20/2024 - 08/30/2024

      Freshman $3,577/month
      Sophomore $3,922/month
