      Summary: Under direction of the Network Supervisor implements, administers, and maintains system databases in conjunction with the Systems Admin work-center mission.

      The intent of this position description is to provide a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities performed by this position. Employee(s) may be required to perform position-related tasks other than those specifically listed in this description.

      Essential Job Functions:

      • Implements, administers, and maintains system databases.
      • Performs data backups and restorations, index and execution plan modifications, data views, transaction log analyses, and archival processes and validates them by disaster recovery testing.
      • Develops and supports advanced data storage and manipulation solutions.
      • Coordinates and implements database related upgrades for all vendor supported applications, including direct oversight of vendor access to both schema and data.
      • Liaises with vendor engineers regarding modifications to database design and structure, data migrations, and/or custom reporting.
      • Engineers and constructs data warehousing and business intelligence solutions.
      • Coordinates with the IT Development Team in placing in-house developed software, customizations, and patches into the production environment.
      • Monitors assigned systems activity and makes recommendations for improving utilization, security, and integrity of systems.
      • Conducts preventive maintenance routines and change control processes for assigned systems to ensure optimal operation while minimizing business impact.
      • Prepares and maintains records and documentation for assigned systems.
      • Ensures compliance of all assigned systems with applicable regulatory frameworks.

      Required Knowledge of:

      • Advanced standards, principles, and practices of data warehousing and business intelligence.
      • Advanced standards, principles, and practices of database administration.
      • Administration of databases in a complex highly virtualized and clustered environment.

      Required Skill in:

      • Administering and effectively maintaining complex relational databases, preferably in a Microsoft SQL environment (version 2000 and newer).
      • Developing OLAP cubes utilizing MS SQL Server
      • Ensuring proper database functionality, interaction, and data integrity.
      • Custom report design and toolsets for advanced data mining.
      • Establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with others.

      Education, Experience, Licenses, Registrations, and Certifications:

      • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field, and three (3) years database administration experience, or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
      • Microsoft Certified Database Administrator (MCDBA) certification required or equivalent mix of education, training, and experience.
      • Prior experience in a casino IT environment preferred.
      • High security gaming license issued by the Grand Ronde Gaming Commission.
      • Must be 21 years of age.
      • Due to the nature of the interactions with other employees and the public we serve, employees may be required to provide documentation of, or receive, certain health vaccinations.

      Environmental Factors and Conditions/Physical Requirements:

      • Work is performed in an office environment with occasional exposure to tobacco smoke and noise common to gaming environments.
      • Work is subject to frequent sitting, and occasional walking, bending, reaching, and lifting up to 25 pounds.

      Equipment and Tools Utilized:

      • Equipment utilized includes personal computer and standard office equipment.
