NPG of Idaho – IT Engineer
NPG of Idaho, Inc., which broadcasts KIFI (ABC), KIDK (CBS), KXPI (FOX) The CW, Telemundo and a NOW channel is looking for a Broadcast IT Engineer. This individual will be responsible for maintaining, optimizing and ensuring the security of our IT infrastructure, supporting both our newsroom operations and broader company functions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in network administration, systems management and troubleshooting, with the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced multimedia environment.
This position will require a proven IT background with experience in multiple areas – some of which are listed below. A full job description will be reviewed prior to employment.
· Design, implement and manage network infrastructure
· Monitor and maintain servers
· Administer and support Active Directory, Office 365 and other IT systems
· Install all IT equipment and provide support to employees on all IT-related issues
· Implement and maintain security protocols for data and systems
· Manage project timelines, deliverables and resources effectively
· Develop and maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of systems, processes, configurations, user guides, etc.
· Participate in a rotating 7-day, 24-hour on-call support team
Other highly desired skills include TV broadcasting, master control and newsroom automation, non-linear video editing systems, broadcast automation and media play-out servers, routers/switches as well as satellite, cable and broadcast transmissions.
Education preference is for a bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology or a related field. Experience in IT administration, preferably in a media or entertainment environment is desirable, along with knowledge of network and systems administration, Windows and Linux servers and virtualization technologies. This role requires excellent problem-solving skills, strong communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
This is a full-time, non-exempt position that requires a valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record. The ability to work flexible hours, possibly holidays, and work onsite is necessary and you must be able to pass a background check and drug screening.
