      Job Title: IT Infrastructure Assistant Supervisor

      Job Description

      The primary responsibilities of this position involve supporting information technology (IT) and operational technology infrastructure, including local and wide area networks, industrial control systems, automated meter reading, internet and radio-based communications, telecommunications, surveillance, and related systems.

      Responsibilities

      • Provide services for potable water, catering to approximately 35 clients.
      • Develop skills and acquire broad knowledge in hardware and software of local and wide area networks, industrial control systems, automated meter reading, internet and radio-based communications, telecommunications, surveillance, and related systems.
      • Apply standard techniques, procedures, and criteria to perform assigned tasks, including intermediate-level abilities to detect, isolate, and resolve automation and communication system problems.
      • Assist with server maintenance, repairs, and general upkeep.
      • Support radio-based communication, industrial control systems, and field applications related to industrial control systems.
      • Manage inventory and control via spreadsheets and databases.
      • Process, prioritize, and manage IT tickets.
      • Maintain recordkeeping and documentation.
      • Provide daily technical support, troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance on all issued devices.
      • Install software applications and hardware devices such as desktop PCs, printers, smartphones, cameras, radio transmitters, instrumentation, control systems, and communication systems.
      • Perform administrative tasks for the IT Division, including billing, purchases, and requisitions.
      • Receive direction on unusual or difficult problems with a general review of all aspects of work.
      • Coordinate information technology and operations technology infrastructure-related tasks with staff.
      • Perform work assignments in various ambient conditions including extreme cold, hot, wet, or other inclement weather conditions.
      • Participate in scheduled 24/7 standby duties with a 60-minute on-site response time, rotating evenly with other qualified supervisory staff.
      • Perform related duties as assigned.

      Essential Skills

      • 3+ years of IT and operational technology support experience.
      • Strong communication skills and commitment to teamwork and maintaining a positive attitude.
      • Understanding of networking and cabling, including switches for facilities.
      • Experience with installing cameras and wires, hardware component, and electrical.
      • Support for help desk applications and tickets, Windows server, standardized IOS using iPad and iPhones, mobile management programs, and computers running Windows 10 (migrating to 11).
      • Knowledge of electrical systems and wiring.

      Additional Skills & Qualifications

      • Experience in SQL is beneficial.
      • Preference for candidates with more IT experience than operational technology experience.
      • Education is preferred but real-world experience is highly valued.

      Work Environment

      This position is based at the headquarters located in Cedar Knolls, NJ, and involves working at various facilities and throughout the service area. Generally assigned work hours are from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, with a one-hour non-paid lunch. Office assignments are supplemented with fieldwork activities. Travel, including overnight and weekend stays, may be required to attend professional seminars and conferences, with travel occurring locally, regionally, or within the Continental US.

      The pay range for this position is $60000.00 - $80000.00/yr.
