      About our group:

      The Seagate Wafer Factory IT team is part of Global Wafer Systems (GWS) group responsible for designing, developing and supporting critical business solutions at factory sites in Asia, Europe and the US. The teams are located worldwide which requires significant collaboration from all members of our global team. The Global Factory IT solutions portfolio includes Shop floor Client applications, several dashboard applications in technologies: HTML5, Angular, Java, .NET and integration services including containerized orchestration systems such as Kubernetes & messaging platforms RabbitMQ.

      About the role - you will:

      We have an exciting opportunity for an IT Intern wishing to take on an 11-month placement, commencing in September 2024 to join the GWS Factory IT team in Springtown facility.

      You will


      • Gain real world experience in developing and supporting software solutions in the factory production environment working in a cross site, cross functional team setup.
      • Prototype new age integration solutions using latest technologies & messaging platforms.
      • Provide support to the existing software solutions, info security & quarterly maintenance activities working with global teams.
      • Develop technical design and end user documentation for the development teams and support teams.
      • Follow software development and support processes and procedures to ensure a high quality of work is delivered to the business with minimal disruptions.
      • Gain experience with the IT Service Management including Incident, Change and Problem Management processes from inception through closure in an enterprise system such as ServiceNow.

      About you:

      • Good programming skills desirable.
      • Technical minded, analytical thinker and able to produce ideas and solutions. Demonstrate experience in problem solving abilities.
      • Strong teamwork qualities as well as communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.
      • Have general understanding of the technology stack, software development & support processes.

      Your experience includes:

      • IT Project experience in software development, maintenance and support.
      • Programming skills with Java, C# .NET, ReactJS/JavaScript, Angular, HTML5, SQL.
      • Currently undertaking a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/IT/Software Engineering related degree programme.

      This is a Full-Time position working 39 hours per week, on-site working.

      The placement dates are:
      • Starting on 2nd September 2024 and finishing 22nd August 2025
