      Are you a Data Science, IT, Engineering or Accounting student looking for an internship opportunity for Summer 2024? If so, Emerson’s Appleton Group has an exciting opportunity for you based in Rosemont, IL. This is a full-time (40 hours per week) Intern position starting May 28, 2024 and ending August 9,2024.

      My name is Brandon Bowen, and I am the Director of IT for the Appleton Group business. You’ll play a key role in supporting the growth of our manufacturing/distribution business by sustaining and creating business system solutions with an emphasize on data warehouse and management. This role is for a data scientist or programmer position. Most of the work content will be based around the Oracle ERP system, Discoverer, and integration with the new data warehouse.       IN THIS ROLE, YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL BE :

      • You’ll have opportunities to gain knowledge and experience in a variety of ways by exploring projects and roles associated with your major and collaborating with multiple departments.

      A DAY IN THE LIFE MAY CONSIST OF:

      • Designing data sets for a new to the world data warehouse.
      • Implementing data sets by transforming source system data (ETL).
      • Support the testing of data sets by interacting with subject matter experts from the business.
      • Collaborating with peers to obtain knowledge transfer and on the job training.
      • Adhering to Change Management/System Governance processes.

      WHO YOU ARE:

      FOR THIS ROLE, YOU WILL NEED:

      • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in data science, Computer Information Systems, Engineering or Accounting.
      • Zero (0) years of related experience
      • Willing and able to work 40 hours a week, Monday through Friday, in-person at our office in Rosemont, IL, during Summer 2024.
      • Legal authorization to work in the United States, without sponsorship now and in the future.

      PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS THAT SET YOU APART:

      • Have experience working with an enterprise level database (Synapse, Oracle, SQL Server, etc.) software.
      • Have knowledge of how software creates value for common supply chain and financial business processes.
