- Bachelor’s degree and at least four (4) years of project experience, or an equivalent combination of relevant education, training, and experience;
- Valid driver’s license and a reliable personal vehicle for transportation on a reimbursable basis. Travel is estimated at up to 30% of total job duties. All travel will take place within the Commonwealth; and,
- Access to a personal computer with home internet access sufficient to work remotely.

- Excellent organizational skills;
- Ability to present information clearly and concisely. Able to communicate effectively with all staff within the organization and with stakeholders outside the organization;
- Proven ability to complete projects according to outlined scope and timeline;
- Ability to work independently and take initiative and to establish effective working relationships and work as a team;
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and to exercise considerable judgment and discretion;
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint;
- Experience with project management software tools, methodologies, and best practices;
- Able to handle multiple tasks, prioritize effectively, meet deadlines, and deliver high-quality work;
- Experience in organizational management, including project and data management; and,
- Previous experience in a legal setting a plus.
- Ensuring efficient operation of the Information Technology Department by managing on-going and special projects;
- Working with IT to manage various projects by determining and defining project scope and objectives, constructing detailed work plans, managing teams, keeping projects on-track and within budget, and by communicating results to staff and other stakeholders;
- Preparing and presenting progress updates to appropriate management channels on a regular basis;
- Overseeing progress and implementation of Department goals;
- Creating and maintaining IT documents for processes, procedures, and change management;
- Facilitating the procurement of software and hardware quotes and ordering processing;
- Designing, overseeing, and managing technology processes that execute updates initiated by other operational departments, including end-user communications;
- Managing the daily schedule of IT field staff and keeping a central calendar;and,
- Other tasks as assigned.

The Committee for Public Counsel Services (CPCS), the Massachusetts state public defender agency, is seeking a Project Coordinator to assist the Information Technology Department with on-going and special projects including but not limited to technology improvements, job aid creation, inventory control, and office moves.

AGENCY OVERVIEW
CPCS is the state agency in Massachusetts responsible for providing an attorney when the state or federal constitution or a state statute requires the appointment of an attorney for a person who cannot afford to retain one. The agency provides representation in criminal, delinquency, youthful offender, family regulation, guardianship, mental health, sexually dangerous person, and sex offender registry cases, as well as in appeals and post-conviction and post-judgment proceedings related to those matters.
The clients we represent are diverse across every context imaginable and bring many unique cultural dimensions to the matters we address. DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW
The Information Technology Division enables and enhances the delivery of the Agency’s mission to serve our clients through the creation of innovative digital products and the support of staff, private counsel, and vendor partners. We accomplish these objectives by providing application development and infrastructure services focusing on client success and strategic IT service delivery both as technology leaders and partners in the fight for equal justice and zealous advocacy on behalf of our clients.
POSITION OVERVIEW
The Project Coordinator is a new position within the Information Technology Department designed to assist with on-going and special projects. The primary duties of the role include working with vendors on procurement, overseeing the progress and implementation of goals, and assisting the Information Technology Department members with projects. The position will work closely with members of the Information Technology Department to assist with project implementation as well.
The Project Coordinator will report to the Director of IT Infrastructure.
