  The role
  As an IT Security Officer, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. You will be responsible for ensuring IT Security policy and process is applied.

  Day to day, you’ll provide IT security support to business functions for IT infrastructure and standalone environments;

  • Work with local teams and support the business in ensuring IT Security / SAL / Trade controls contractual requirements are met;
  • Act as the local interface / escalation point of contact for customers and key stakeholders (internal & external) regarding IT Security matters;
  • Raise, investigate and manage IT security incidents ensuring any necessary follow up actions;
  • Provide IT security support to risk owners including SIRO, IAOs etc.

  
  This is a full-time role with 37.5 hours per week. The successful candidate will be based in Plymouth with hybrid working from home arrangements, 3-4 days in the office per week.

  
  Essential experience of the IT Security Officer:

  • Experience of hands-on security experience
  • Understanding of Data Protection and Trade controls
  • Sound knowledge of UK Government security policies and standards
  • Proven relevant experience in working with and developing HMG accredited environments and risk assessments
  • Understanding of GovS 007, JSP440, ONR and other Industry and MoD best practice publications

  Qualifications for the IT Security Officer:

  • A university degree or relevant experience in a Security discipline

  The successful candidate must be able to achieve BPSS/SC security clearance for this role.
